Hosting Changes

  • OK, first of all I want to thank each and everyone of you that offered any kind of help with the hosting team revamp. It's always pleasing that people care enough about the site to want to help!

Obviously, not everyone can be chosen. But not getting selected shouldn't be taken personally! All I would say is that you should keep posting, keep being active on the site - your 'turn' will probably come sooner than you think!

That said, here goes with what I've decided:

BLOGS & STORIES  A big welcome back onto the Host Team to Guy Corbett, coming in alongside Charlie to perk up the Blogs and Stories. Long standing members will remember that Guy was a very capable Host in the Character Build Group. An absence engendered by a move overseas led to him being replaced - but now he is back!

VIDEOS  Emer Dareloth jumps on board alongside Titan to breathe some life into the Video section

FORUMS This was a tricky one. I'm keeping Shannon on the team because although she is currently absent due to ongoing family issues, when she eventually returns she's an insatiable starter of threads and forum poster. And I'm keeping Rune Red there because he's a dependable and reliable moderator who regularly deals with the detritus of the forums!  However despite these two 'regulars' the forums are nowhere near as active as they should be - so I'm appointing Josh Marken and Arcanus Lex as new forum hosts, charged with the specific responsibility for coming up with new forum topics and pumping life into existing threads. Hopefully this will make the forums much more lively!

TIPS & TRICKS Welcome to Moth Priest as new Host for this group.

Looking more closely at the groups, I see that World of Tamriel only had three new topics in the last four months, whilst Skyrim Challenges hasn't really had any activity for about four months. Both of these groups have obviously died a death, and have been deleted.

A group for Gaming Reviews & Topics has been suggested, and although its been tried before I am willing to give it another go. I'll be creating this group later, and Julian Edwards and Dieter will be the Hosts for that group.

Again, thanks for the interest from everyone

Paul decided to leave it alone as a peacefull sancuary for women only. It would be stupid to remove it anyway, it hasn't got that many members, especially not that are active so a lot of activity isn't expected anyway.

The other thing I forgot to mention in the post was that there will be a group for The Elder Scrolls Online.
However until there is a more steady stream of news, and we have an actual release date, there doesn't seem much point in having a separate ...  more

Gratz to all the new and existing hosts.  And, Paul, thanks for keeping me on the team.
I have mixed feelings about the challenge group - it was fun for a while, but then stagnated...and I never did learn to fly those bear traps more than a few feet...  more

Congrats to my boy Guy! He'll be stoked. I'm glad he'll be back more on the site, although we talk more often in other forums.
