The Weekend Roundtable: The best game of 2012

  • We're almost at the end of 2012 now, and most gaming sites are talking about what they think is their 'Game of the Year'

The Skyrim Blog is no different - but rather than having an editorial choice, we believe in letting our faithful members and readers make the choice! So, this week we have a poll and a discussion about what YOU think is 'game of the year'.

I took nominations in the Chat Party last week, plus I've filled out the list with one or two RPGs that I enjoyed. There's also the inevitable 'None of the above option' - but if you click that one, please let us know your choice below.

So, vote on the poll  -we want lots of votes for this to make it more meaningful - and discuss in the thread below

What was YOUR Game of the Year for 2012?

I am happy they didn't go with the stereotypical great white shark, but they still went with the sterotypical. It'd be awesome if they added in several different kinds of sharks and took their aggressiveness into account. IE Bull sharks, of course, would ...  more

Yeah, normally sharks wouldn't attack humans, only by accident since we simply aren't their prey. Still, makes diving deep to get some treasure somewhat exciting. They should have added bigger sharks and maybe even whales and stuff in the deeper part *It'...  more

After playing some more of Far Cry 3, though it's still amazingly fun, the animals are pretty dumb. Alligators are always under lillipads. Sharks are immediately aggressive and the attacks are glitchy. Actually the sharks are one of my main problems, they...  more

They only fire once and not relead if they have the time. They also have a clear shot at you when you run at them and then they suddenly instead of shooting lower their aim and start bayonet charging at you. Pretty dumb if you ask me.

Weird, I was thought for a hundred of them to be firing on me, there'd need to be a hundred of them and not 10 :P

Matt, if they acted as they should, you would never be fighting 1 at a time but hundereds who will be fireing and fighting in tight formations giving you zero space to move around in.

-They fired pretty often at me. Especially when I "was fighting their fellow soldiers."

-Hmm, this one is a difficult, for the most part sneaking wasn't the easiest, but sometimes they went full-on retard mode on me.

    -Agreed, of ...  more

Let me share some of my other issues with AC 3
-Line infantry where very well trained disciplined soldiers. They would fight as a group and get together in groups so they where a fighting force to be reckoned with. They would certainly not just bayo...  more
