The Friday Round Up

  • We've got a lot to round up this week so let's get cracking...

    Nine Divines Poll

Last weeks 'Nine Divines' poll attracted a fair bit of lively discussion, as well as just under 1100 votes. The results were interesting to say the least, and here they are

So why the controversy? Well, some people argue that Talos isn't a Divine and shouldn't even have been in the poll! Clearly about 350 people disagreed and voted for the Nordic hero-god.

So all of you Thalmor sympathisers will have just suck it up

    Khajiit Quiz now open

I've just uploaded a brand new Quiz into the Quiz module - this time it is about the Khajiit. Test your knowledge of Khajiit lore, gameplay and NPCs by heading over to the Quiz (the link is on the top menu bar)

There is also a thread for you to share your angst. So don't be shy - tell us how you did

    New Site Banner

I wanted to thank Narmis for organising the site banner competition last week in Skyrim Art. We had a good standard of entries and there is currently a poll running to choose the new banner.

It will run for about another 24 hours - although it looks fairly clear who will be the winner! Meanwhile, head on over and join the Skyrim Art Group if you want to get creative!

    Special Poll now open

You'll see we have a new poll open called 'Let's Play Poll'. This is going to be running until Sunday, and is to help Twisted Orthus choose which character to use for a 'Let's play' when the Dragonborn DLC hits in just over a weeks time.

I hope that we can feature the eventual results of this here on the site - so check out the thread, and the links there to the various builds - then you can cast a meaningful vote.

Skyrim Blog continues to gain popularity

I thought I'd share some interesting statistics that I grabbed from Google Analytics. This graph shows the number of visitors to this site per week over the past two months

What we can see here is a jump of roughly 50% in visitors over the last two months! Amazing really, when you consider that we are focused on a game that has been out for more than a year! Together with the steady stream of new members, many of them being now active, it shows that there's plenty of life in this site yet.

And that's good news for everyone

Even better, due to the Redguards' beliefs, Talos is a false god!

In fact, it's likely Talos is just there for an excuse to worship Lorkhan/Shor!

Paul, have you played Skyrim? 200 years more recent! Ever read "The Talos Mistake"? The entire book, Empire approved, states that they were wrong AND how they were!

Played Oblivion, hopefully going to get Morrowind soon.

Ever played Oblivion or Morrowind Spectre? Both games were based around a pantheon of NINE Divines. The clue is in the number 'nine'...
I can't even imagine how many times I heard guards in Oblivion shout 'By the nine'....

Paul, since it seems you're on, Talos shouldn't have been in the poll! People just vote for him because his amulet reduces time betweeen shouts!

I think I'm clear how someone can get a couple of extra votes on the poll, although I don't see how the current poll widget can be manipulated for massive rigging.
As for the votes on Twisted's poll, it is common for a new poll to get an early surge...  more

He'd better watch his words. One does not simply blame Narmis.
