The Character Build Showcase: The Blackguard

  • It's Sunday, so its time for another Character Build Showcase. This week Ponty has chosen the Blackguard. It's a build that might interest those looking to go down the evil route in Skyrim Here's what the author has to say about this guy:

The great shadow, master of evil, commander of the undead, the depraved and the wretched. Sowing dissent and when his foes are at his weakest, crushing them like insects with brutal speed.

The blackguard build is an extremely tanky conjurer, with skills in smithing, enchanting and alchemy, so that he may outfit his horde with the best weapons and armor. Along with this, he uses illusion to not only sow the seeds of dissent in the enemy but also to strengthen his minions, helping them to crush any in his way.

Here's Ponty's blurb about the Blackguard build:

A very high quality build from often absent member XianiX, the Blackguard is anyone's guide to playing a powerful and fun evil character in Skyrim. Everything you need to start playing is there, presented such that everything's there without being a wall of text. It's got lots of RP and gameplay potential, with a playstyle we don't often see in the Character Building group. If you haven't played an evil character, give this guy a shot!

So, take a look at the Blackguard and see if its something that might take your fancy...

@XianiX Oh, okay. I actually only like to play a character that is evil if the character has fallen (case in point, Mason's Fallen Hero).

@Hunter I have actually found that the blackguard can easily be played as a neutral character and even a good character with the "role reversal" I included at the bottom, turning him into a sort of resurrection paladin/warlord. I just placed him as evil b...  more

But if we are talking about my love for assassins and thieves... Zevran from Dragon Age Origins put it "Some people simply need assassinating." Like corrupt kings, the injustice, etc. And for thieves, Robin Hood would be basically my character.

@Beast blasphemy! I might have meant it in the way where I did something cruel, but I felt bad afterwards.

I would like to play the blackguard... But every time I play an evil guy, no matter what game it is, I never get that far, cause I will delete the save after awhile cause I feel terrible. I am too much a good person.
