This week Kynareth has chosen the epic story of Razzelas, penned by resident loremaster Vix.
Who's to say what spark lights the flame of avarice in man's heart. How far might one go to possess what they covet? Would that desire span the seas, climb the tallest mountains, descend into the deepest pits, and emerge with the same resounding fervor? Such was the question of one particular Khajiit, a question which never entered the mind of his employer.Â
The story of Razzelas is not about the heroic dragonborn of legend, nor is it about the great guilds of the land, it's the story of one Khajiit's race against time to save his own life.
Having downloaded and read the wonderfully constructed PDF's of Razzelas on my Kindle, I can testify that this is a story that is well worth the time and effort to read. The blend of lovingly crafted text, photos and artwork combine to make a memorable experience.
And as Kynareth writes:
A point of interest is that Vix plays Dead is Dead, and Razzelas was a DiD character. Â If I am not mistaken, Razzelas only achieved a level 7 by the end of the story. Â So some of those facts provide an interesting background to the story itself....it is certainly not the example of a power play type of character. Â That is all info for you...but my little blurb is below...though I cannot really do better than the intro Vix provides in the link that I gave you above:
Vix's tale of a young Khajiit thief racing against the clock to save his own life is a thrilling tale of mischance, mishap, and misadventure. Â What will a thief do when Rajhin's luck runs out? Â The entire tale is a marvelous cross in style between Charles Dickens and Carlovac Townaway (the author of 2920). Â Vix has crafted one of the most memorable characters in Razzelas, and has vividly drawn with words the game we all know and love. Â And how can you not love a character who charms and swindles Jarls alike, especially with phrases like (and I am paraphrasing)..."Ah, horkers, a Sload's dream girl." Â
