The Friday Round Up

  • Welcome to the Friday Round up, where we gather the various bits of site news together in place each Friday.

    Weekly Deathmatch

This weeks Deathmatch is now over, and resulted in a conclusive win for the Dark Warden. Additionally the Mystic Paladin attracted enough attention to get over the 10 'like' cut off point. However, the other two builds didn't get the requisite 'likes' and will now be deleted. 155 people voted in the Deathmatch and it appears that - this week at least - it did the job it was designed to do.

    Poll Result

Last week I asked whether you were still playing Skyrim. Just over 1000 people voted and these are the  results:

It's gratifying to see that just over two-thirds of you are still playing Skyrim. Whilst that might have been expected on what is, after all, a Skyrim fan site, it is nonethless pleasing to see! Furthermore another 30% of you are on some kind of hiatus from the game - either having a break to play something else or waiting for DLC. But you still expect to play Skyrim again soon.

For a game that has now been out for almost one full year that's pretty amazing! In fact only 2% are saying that they are done with Skyrim completely. That's good news for us a community site as we look to the future!

    Site Revamp

I'm aiming to have the planned site revamp ready for the one year anniversary of Skyrim on November 11th. It's taking longer than anticipated because I'm currently redecorating and revamping my house! That's also the reason the projected series on modding has been delayed (my gaming PC is packed up and out of action, and I can only play on PS3). Nevertheless, I intend to get the job done over the next fortnight, and (very broadly) it will involve:

    • A fresh colour scheme theme and 'look' for the whole site
    • A new banner (look out for a competition next week!)
    • Content blocks on the front page for the daily content
    • Incorporating the 'Disqus' commenting system into the blog comments - that enables threaded discussion and 'likes' on posts (as with Facebook)
