Hello everyone
Those of you who've been here for a while will recall that I've been on a self-imposed hiatus from The Skyrim Blog for a few months. That came about because of some personal and family issues which needed to be my focus over the Summer.
But now its time to emerge out of hibernation and take up the reins once again!
Firstly, I want to say a big word of 'thanks' to the Host team here at The Skyrim Blog. When I was even considering closing the site down, they were very quick to offer to take up much of the slack. I can promise you that, if they'd not done that, then this site wouldn't be here now! It was that serious! So I'm sure I speak on behalf of everyone when I say give them all a hearty pat on the back...
Since I've been away, we've had several hundred new members join up, quite a few of whom have already become active. Welcome to you! I guess I ought to explain - just in case you were wondering - that I'm the guy who started up this site and is the 100% owner of The Skyrim Blog. I live pretty much in the middle of England, and I've been playing Elder Scrolls since the days of Morrowind in 2002.
Over the last couple of weeks I've been preparing to step back into things by perusing the site, reading articles, blogs and forums - and thinking up some new ideas for content here on the site.
Here's my starter for ten
Every day there'll be new content on the site, in the form of a 'daily feature'. I probably haven't explained that very well so perhaps an example will help. Mondays will be for POLLS! Every Monday I'll be adding a brand new poll - using a new poll widget that won't slow down the site - for you to vote and comment about.
Now, eagle-eyed members will immediately pipe up and say 'We've always had polls on a Monday! What's so new about that?' And, of course, you'd be right! But what we haven't had is a 'content feature' for all the other days of the week - at least not since way back on the old site when we had things like 'The Friday Lore Series' and 'The Weekend Roundtable'. Who remembers those?
So what's going to be happening tomorrow and the next day then? Ah, that would be telling
Come back each day this week and see what has been added to the site. Gradually this will re-shape the front page of the site, prior to a planned revamp of the site design later in October.
Plenty to look forward then as we draw close to the First Anniversary of Skyrim...

@Mason: I bet someone could write a script to would check every build page once per day and count the number of likes, with a function to automatically sort each build based on the number of likes it has as of that day. It shouldn... more
