Paladin edges Volkihar - but Mason and Ponty are both winners in Character Build 'Shoot Out'

  The Character Build 'Shoot Out' has finally come to a close - and the winner was The Paladin build created by Ponty.

  After a weekend of polling, and 466 votes, the poll was locked at 50% each when midnight UK time arrived. Perhaps a draw would have been a fitting result, as the poll was never more than a couple of percentage points either way from when it opened on Friday.

  However, when I looked in the 'back end' of the poll module, I noticed that even though the poll is rounded to the nearest percentage point, the actual voting was as follows

  The Paladin 234

  The Volkihar 232

  All of which meant that - by a measly two votes - The Paladin just edged out The Volkihar.

  However, when we look at the results - reproduced below - it is apparent to me that it would be cruel to label Ponty as 'winner' and Mason as 'loser'. After all, not only did Mason have 7 Builds in the Last 16, he had 3 of the 4 semi-finalists. Not too shabby.

  So well done to BOTH of you guys - you really are the masters of Character Building. Whilst there are lots of amazing builds in the Character Build Group - and its especially cool to see new members joining the site and adding their work - you two guys really are 'kings' of the genre!

  To mark this achievement, I've used the newly-added Ning 'member categories' feature to crown the both of you as 'Character Build Kings' - and given you a crown on your avatars so that wherever you post on the site people will be reminded of the hard work and dedication that you've put into the Character Builds on The Skyrim Blog.

  As I've said at various times, the Character Build Group is the most popular part of this site. Google Analytics shows that 'Skyrim Character Build' is the second most searched term on Google (behind 'Skyrim'...) that brings people to this site. And you only have to watch the site for a while to see how many people join the site and immediately join the Character Build Group!

  So, today, this site honours and pays its appreciation to Mason and Ponty.... the 'kings' of Character Building. Thanks guys
