Seeking Redemption: The Chronicles of the Dragonborn-Chapter 4

  • I walked into my kitchen, looking for something that I could call breakfast. Unfortunately, there was no food left in my house. Desperate for something to eat, I decided to head to the market. The marketplace wasn't that bad, it was just the people that made me angry. I've met many good people in Whiterun such as Carlotta, Ysolda, and the companions... But then there are people such as Nazeem, that I am sick of. The people who think they are above all others. I opened the door and tried to be as quiet as possible, not wanting to wake up Anrelri, she's had a rough day (especially after me threatening to kill her... I should probably think of a way to apologize to her). I walked out of my house and proceeded through the center of town to the market place. The area was filled with almost all of the citizens that lived here; the only people who weren't here were the children and the guards patrolling the entire city. I could smell Carlotta's fresh bread she made this morning. It smelled absolutely delicious. I bought a loaf of bread and an apple from her. Not wanting to eat outside, I decided to enter the Bannered Mare, I also had to complete my job from last night. As soon as I walked in, I saw a man being held back by two others and another man with a lute who was smiling... Oh no. "Let go of me, Rolf!" The large man screamed at his friend, constantly trying to break free of the others. "What's going on?" I asked. The large man stopped trying to attack the man with the lute. "This bastard here was hitting on my wife!" He said as he pointed towards the man who was now starting to look very familiar. "In my defense," Arenar said smiling. "If she were treated well at home, she wouldn't have to go to a bar every night to seek out a man's company." This caused the man to get angry again and he renewed his attack. "Listen, how about we walk away right now and forget this ever happened." I said, trying to be diplomatic. The men now looked at me. "You with him? " The large man asked. "Unfortunately," I said with a sigh. "You best stay away from me then." He said menacingly. "Or I'll beat you to Soverngarde and back." After that he walked up to me and took my apple. "Oh, and thanks for the apple." He laughed. I then took the nearest bottle of mead and smashed it over his head, knocking him out instantly. This angered his friends who then proceeded to charge at me. I dodged their attempts at striking at me and punched one of them in the face, which sent him wobbling back. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Arenar take a chair from one of the tables and slam it on one of the men attacking me, which took him down. With one left I wanted to end this as quickly as possible. I waited for him to run towards me, and as soon as he tried to punch me I swiftly took his arm and flipped him on top of a table, which caused it to shatter. "I could have handled them you know." Arenar said smugly to me.This man was starting to get onto my nerves. Right behind Arenar I saw one of the men starting to get up, he was the one who got hit with the chair. He walked up to the bard with a dagger pulled out. I had little time to react, I ran up to Arenar and took the dagger strike to the stomach. Arenar realized what just happened and pulled out his own knife and threw it into the man's chest. I struggled to walk and fell down. The pain I felt in my stomach was crippling me. I was starting to black out... Am I going to die?... "Hold on friend. I'm going to help you." Said a blurry figure, I think it was Arenar. My vision slowly left me... I faded out of consciousness.
