Seeking Redemption: The Chronicles of the Dragonborn-Chapter 3

  • When I returned to Whiterun, I had to figure out where Anrelri was going to be sleeping. Since it was late at night, I doubted an inn would have any open rooms. "You can stay in my house, Breezehome." I told her. She smiled and said that would be great. As we entered my house, I was greeted by my Housecarl and good friend, Lydia. When she saw me, she walked up over to me. "Hello my Thane. How are you-" she stopped herself when she saw Anrelri. "Who is this my Thane?" She asked me, her job as a Housecarl made her naturally suspicious of guests. "This is an old friend, her name is Anrelri." I said to Lydia. "Anrelri, this is Lydia, she is my Housecarl."Anrelri proceeded to shake Lydia's hand. "It's nice to meet you Anrelri." Lydia said with the utmost kindness. "Likewise." Anrelri looked calm, yet I could tell she was confused. "Well, Lydia, she has no place to stay so she going to sleep here tonight." I explained to my Housecarl. "Oh... Ok. I understand my Thane." She said with a smirk. Why was she smiling? "Do you want me to leave so you two can be alone?" Both Anrelri and I immediately said "What?!" "It's fine, you two want your 'alone time', I won't bother you." Lydia said as she tried to leave the house. "No, that's not what I meant." I tried to explain to her, "The inns are closed down, and there is no other area for her to sleep." Lydia simply walked passed us, oblivious of our crimson cheeks. With us being alone and, I gave her a tour of the house. "And this will be the guest room, as soon as the decorations arrives." I said, showing her the big empty space near the master bedroom. "Ok, goodnight." She told me as she walked down the stairs. I was confused. She laid down on the couch in the living room. I walked towards her. "What are you doing?" I asked her. "I'm trying to sleep on the couch, why, should I not do that? I'll sleep on the floor." She said getting off the couch. "No, you are my guest and you will sleep in the master bedroom. Don't argue with me." She tried to object, but she was too tired. I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes. And I thanked the gods for bringing Anrelri back. She was my closest friend back in Cyrodill. We would spend our nights in camp talking with each other, which led to rumors about the two of us, which weren't true, at least... I thought they weren't true. I fell asleep and dreamt, and for the first time in weeks, it wasn't a nightmare. 5 hours later Bang, Bang, Bang! I jumped up, ready to defend myself, and looking around the house. I then realized that it was the door. I walked over and answered the pounding. "Hello?" I said, still tired. "Good morning!" said a man with long, flowing, brown hair. He had a shaved beard, and wore black clothes with red designs in them. "Care to donate to a worthy cause?" The man said with a grin on his face. "What's the cause?" I asked him. I will happily donate to charity--if the people I donate to actually need it. "To repair my lovely lute." "Are you serious?" I asked, feeling frustrated. "You woke me up... To fix your stupid lute?!" He looked at me in mock disgust. "How dare you! Bianca is not just some lute, she is a work of art!" I stared at him, puzzled. "Bianca?... You named your lute?" "Yeah, what about it?" He said sounding equally as angry. "Never mind. What's your name?" I asked him, trying to keep things civil. "Arenar, Arenar the magnificent- no that doesn't work, Arenar the grea- no. Give me a moment." He said, pondering possible names. "Listen, Arenar." I told him, shaking him out of his current thought. "If I give you 50 septims will you leave me alone?" He gasped. "Thank you kind sir, you won't regret this, I promise you." He took the gold and proceeded to the general store.
