Ciel’nn frowned as he looked at his friend, Vevan. Judging by his behavior, the vampire hadn’t fed for a couple of days and he was in a foul mood. Ciel’nn bit his lower lip as he pondered what to say while Vevan nearly raged at his alchemy station. It made the younger Dunmer only slightly worried.

“Vevan?” he began, “Did you forget to feed?” Ciel’nn was aware this might enrage his vampire friend even more.

“What does it look like, Ciel’nn!?” Vevan hissed as a vial crushed into pieces in his hands. “Damn them! S’wit!” he kept on cursing before he turned around and looked at Ciel’nn. “Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get these plants?” he asked in a low and hungry tone. “They are rare.”

Recognizing the vampire’s dangerous tone, Ciel’nn took a step towards the door. “I know, Vevan. Very rare indeed.” he said carefully while he eyed the door nearby. This situation wasn’t the first time – it had happened before. He knew Vevan was hungry, but he couldn’t make food for that kind of hunger.

He only knew he’d have to get out of the house, as soon as possible.

“Are you going somewhere?” Vevan asked in clear annoyance and in a blink he pushed Ciel’nn against the wall. His hunger was almost unbearable now.

“Maybe you should go out and get fed?” Ciel’nn asked, his heart racing.

“Why would I when I have you right here?” Vevan almost sneered and they were face to face.

He could feed here and now… No! He fought it back – this Dunmer was his friend and was like a baby brother to him. He cannot feed on him. Though, he had his lips parted already. Was it too late?

Gathering his strength, Ciel’nn abruptly pushed Vevan off him and he ran to the door.

“Don’t you dare walk out on me! Do you hear?!” Vevan shouted in anger, but Ciel’nn was already out of the house. “Damn it! I did it again!”

Ciel’nn hoped his vampire friend wouldn’t hurt himself with the vials, even though vampires heal faster than the common folk that walk on Nirn. Still, he was slightly worried as the ship docked on Anvil’s harbor. He can take care of himself. I hope Elam isn’t busy tonight.

He slipped through the door when a few other assassins came out. He nodded to them and stopped just a few steps from the door to take a deep breath.

“I thought you were taking a few free days off, Silencer?” Elam’s voice came from the hallway as he walked towards the younger Dunmer who was clearly somewhere else by his expression.

“Oh! I… Umm...” Ciel’nn stammered. Elam’s sudden appearance made him flustered. “Do you have some spare time?” he managed to ask quietly while his heart started racing again. How he had missed the mer.

“Alright, meet you outside in half an hour.” Elam said casually and turned to visit at Matron’s quarters.

Half an hour is too long a time. Ciel’nn made a small pout before he turned to go outside. He pushed the door open and was facing a tall altmer vampire lady who was giving him a cold look when he looked up at her. Frowning, Ciel’nn side stepped and moved outside. Why it is that I have to put up with them anyway?

Finally Elam arrived at their meet up location that was near the Hrota Cave. Ciel’nn was delighted, and straightened up from leaning against a tree. He dared to smile while Elam was frowning slightly. The younger Dunmer stepped closer to Elam, attempting to hug him, but the older Dunmer took his hand.

“Let’s go elsewhere.” Elam said in a low tone while he eyed their surroundings. Knowing Ciel’nn wouldn’t resist him to take the lead, at least for a while, he began to lead them towards the west coast where they probably would be together alone.

A few unlucky bandits met their end before the two Dunmers were at where Elam wanted them to be – at the west coast beach. Otherwise it was quiet.

They stopped at a nice place near the sea shore, and Elam who had a backpack with him, laid down a canvas onto which they sat down. Ciel’nn watched the older Dunmer taking out a bottle of Sujamma and two chalices. Had he planned this all along? Whatever Elam had planned for them, Ciel’nn was just happy to be with him.

“I missed you.” he whispered as he took his chalice from Elam.

“What’s the matter, Ciel’nn?” Elam asked before he took a ship from his chalice. He could tell something was bothering the Silencer who sat next to him. Of course he could start guessing, but he’d rather hear it from the Dunmer himself.

“Well,” Ciel’nn sighed as Elam had dodged his attempt to get something that he needed. “Vevan had forgotten to feed himself, and he got mad at me.” he explained as he looked down at his Sujamma. “I shouldn’t be afraid because of him. He’s my friend… I had to run, again.” The younger Dunmer looked at Elam. “I had nowhere else to go, and… I had to see you.”

Elam sipped his drink quietly as he kept his gaze at Ciel’nn. It was true, they had become close. He didn’t want to see the younger assassin being down or chased by a vampire – even if that happened to be his friend. Nowhere else to go? Surely he meant ‘no one else to see.’ “Ciel’nn,” Elam said as he brought up his hand to raise the younger Dunmer’s chin up, “you’re always welcome to see me at the Sanctuary.” he paused with a smile now. “I’ve missed you, too.”

The touch on his chin and gazing at Elam’s eyes, made Ciel’nn felt hot like lava inside the Red Mountain. There was something in the older Dunmer’s eyes – clanship perhaps – he wasn’t sure, but he felt it strongly. His lips curled into a smile, but he was speechless for a while.

The older Dunmer felt it, too. In fact, Elam was afraid Ciel’nn might melt this place where they were sitting. He shifted to get the younger Dunmer into his arms. “Don’t forget to breathe.” he murmured into Ciel’nn’s ear before gently kissing the edge of the ear.

If he could be in drug heaven that you get by drinking Skooma – Ciel’nn was comfortable relaxed and happy as he leaned back against the older Dunmer and while they were watching the waves on the sea. He felt Elam’s hand on his and for now they didn’t need words for anything.

He knew the next few weeks were going be busy and hectic so he cherished and enjoyed this moment while it lasted.
