D.K.R. Year 6 Alpha Part 2 Soul Fire

  • Ocheeva blinked heavily as her mind snapped back to reality, back to the wooden well cover she and Hasir sat upon. She was only

now vaguely aware that Hasir was looking at her in stunned silence,

"So what happened after this mysterious figure burnt M'raaj to a crisp?" He then muttered, "That bastard deserved what he got."

Ocheeva heard this rude comment and sshot the Argonian a scathing look,

"Hasir, have some sense, will you? A khajiit, one of my dark brothers has died," She said, tears welling in her eyes, "I am beginning

to wonder if you even have a heart." She said, head hidden behind her hands. Hasir could hear her sobbing and tried to calm her,

"I have a heart, I was just-" He began but instantly knew he saw something offcolor when the aged Argonian snarled and shoved

him hard in the chest, so hard in fact that he bounced painfully off of the edge of the well and landed, hard, on the ground. He

scowled at her, rubbing his bruised tail which he had sat upon, fearing a fracture.

Thankfully, Hasir felt no shift in the bone in his tail. Ocheeva turned away from him, folding her arms across her chest and huffed

loudly. Hasir tried to explain that he can often come to rash conclusions before regretting them days later. Ocheeva turned back to

    him and sniffed,

"Well, maybe you should start thinking before you speak." She thundered back at him before walking hurriedly into the abandoned

house, slamming the door behind her.

Hasir sat silent on the wooden well cover for a long time, looking down at his leather shoes which he had gotten from the clothier in

the market district, regretting what he had done, wishing he had acted differently,

"You stupid reptile, why can't you do anything right? Hsss!"

He wished that he could fix this. Immediately, he jumped off of the wooden grate and walked hastily toward the boarded up door,

    opened it and stepped inside.

Once in the abandoned house he looked everywhere, upstairs and on the main floor, for the elderly Argonian; suddenly noticing the

wooden door standing ajar feet from him. Hasir crossed the room and entered the area where the black door stood. The black door

    uttered its question again,

"Will I have to do this every time? hsss." He muttered as he gave the door the answer he sought

Hasir stepped inside the sanctuary. No longer hampered by the darkness that had plagued him on his first visit. He could hear

sobbing coming from the room at the north end of the sanctuary. Footsteps echoed onto the stone floor; Hasir ran toward Ocheeva's

room. He peered down the hallway, partially obscured by the grey stone door; he could see nothing but the orange light of the

torches that lit that corridor. His breathing slowed as he concentrated on the dead silence; trying to hear, or even smell Ocheeva in

Vicente's room. Hearing nothing, he crept away from the stone barricade and crept along the corridor toward the Breton's room.

Unprompted, the Argonian kicked the doors open, they smashed into the stone wall of the room and that is when he saw it; a khajiit

skeleton laying in the left hand corner of the room, on the very rug that Ocheeva had described along with the same position as

well. Hasir looked around the room, seeing nothing by an ornate fireplace sitting on one wall next to a small dresser. the Argonian

saw the cabinet standing not too far from the cracked stone that one of the doors smashed into,

"All this and no sign of Ocheeva, Vicente or the mysterious khajiit, Hsss." He sighed, tail hanging limp as hanging moss behind him,

as he turned to the exit door.

He was about to exit to the main room when he heard three voices; one was screaming and pleading while the others were laughing

with what? mirth? contempt? The argonian could not be sure, but he knew that he had to hurry. He sniffed the air and followed the

scent that wafted through the corridor and took a sharp left turn in the main room, leading him to the sanctuary's training room.

Hasir's eyes went wide as he saw targets for archery, magickal training and swordplay at the far end of the room, some on sticks and

some depended from chains. Hasir's eyes roaved over the scene and saw, to his horror, Viceent and the mysterious khajiit standing

behind a lone chair near the arcery target, one gripping the chair that Ocheeva was sitting in firmly and the other grinning evilly with

a silver blade against her throat.

The young Argonian walked quickly behind Vicente, snaked his arm through the Breton's arm holding the dagger, grabbed the silver

dagger and quickly pointed it at Viecente's neck,

"Release the Argonian. Now." Hasir snarled

Vicente released his hold on Ocheeva's chair, quickly backed away to the far end of the room and smiled darkly; having seen

something Hasir didn't. The mysterious khajiit smiled and started to laugh,

"Foolish lizard, you cannot stop what is foretold, give it up." The khajiit said, unsheathing its long, sharp claws

The Argonian snarled in response and brought Vicente's silver dagger up to meet the khajiit's claws. Hasir yelped in pain as the

sword fell to the floor with a long clang. he glanced at his sword hand, which had an angry red burn mark on it in the shape of the

handle of the sword. Hasir eyes roaved over every inch of the room, franctically trying to locate his bag; he cursed when he realized

he had left in on top of the well he and Ocheeva had occupied earlier.

The khajiit grinned maliciously as he advanced on the Argonian, constantly cursing his misfortune,

"Aww, did the dagger burn you, little lizard? Want me to kiss your wound and make it all better?" The khajiit mocked. It laughed

    coldly at the Argonian's confusion,

"Silver hurts you doesn't it? I could smell the wolf on you the moment you stepped in here."
