Entry 12.

Not long after I was recognised by the Greybeards as the Dragonborn, I was confronted by two Dunmer in strange robes. They accused me of being a fake and that the only true Dragonborn was someone called Miraak, and then they attacked me.

With them dead, I then searched their bodies for any clues as to who this Miraak may be. All I found was a note telling them to board a ship from a place called Raven Rock to Windhelm.

Deciding that I should see what this was all about, I made my way to Windhelm and then the city’s docks where I found the ship the Dunmer had used. The Captain was reluctant to return to Raven Rock; which he told me was a Dunmer settlement on an island off Skyrim’s coast called Solstheim, but when I told him what his passengers had down he quite readily agreed to take me.

When we arrived at Raven Rock I immediately started asking those I met about Miraak. Everyone I spoke to almost seemed to enter a trance at the mention of his name, that is until I met a Dunmer wearing an ornate set of robes and who obviously thought highly of himself. He unlike the others was able to direct me to an ancient temple which had been dedicated to a Miraak many centuries past.

It is from the foot of the temple that I write this entry, and already I can hear some sort of chanting coming from further in and occasionally I will catch a glimpse of movement from within. All around me rest the remains of countless dragons, which if the Dunmer that attacked me are to be believed are most likely the victims of this Miraak. Well I won’t be learning anything from sitting here writing so for now I will continue further into the temple and hope that I will emerge to continue my quest.
