Chapter 1: Frost
Entry 3.

On my way back west towards Jorrvaskr, I decided to get a decent night’s sleep at the inn in Riften.

Upon entering I was stopped by a reedy looking Breton, who claimed to have a job opportunity for me. He told me of a deal he had made with a member of the city’s most powerful family. Apparently, he had agreed to by a horse from this other man and had already given him the first half of the money. Unfortunately for the Breton, the seller had been locked up in the local dungeon before they could complete the sale.

The job that he wanted me to do, was to pay the seller a visit and then retrieve the horse from wherever it had been left. As I was short of septims, I agreed.

Getting into the dungeons was easy enough and finding the seller was even easier, as he was the only prisoner sitting within a cell that would have made even the most expensive inn look like the home of a beggar.

From what he told me, he had not actually had permission from the family head to sell the horse. That however was not the reason he was in that cell. No that was much worse and from the sounds of it he hadn’t fallen far from the tree. After listening to him talk for far too long I finally managed to get the horse’s location out of him. It was being kept at the family’s lodge not far from the city.

The lodge itself was heavily guarded, however the guards themselves turned out to be poorly trained thugs in expensive armour. Once I had bested them, I went in search of the horse’s papers; which I found in the basement. The horse; named Frost, was now mine and all I had to do was hand it over to the Breton.

The first time I saw the beast, I came to a decision. It was too great an animal to just hand over to someone like the Breton and I was in need of a horse myself. With these facts in mind I travelled to the place we had planned to meet.

As I approached, I readied my axe and challenged my employer to single combat with the prize being Frost. At the sight of me grasping an axe larger then he was tall, the Breton fled leaving me the new owner of one of the most beautiful horses that I’ve ever seen.
