A filled black soul gem… this couldn’t be right. To cure herself she would have to kill another and condemn their soul? Sure, she’d killed bandits before but she’d never even considered capturing their souls. The very thought made her feel sick. Anyway, Sovngarde is actually in Aetherius canonically. Here's a journal entry you get upon entering Sovngarde in Skyrim: "I've passed through Alduin's portal into Sovngarde, the realm of Aetherius where the souls of Nord heroes go to feast and battle until the final reckoning. It could very well be that the soul and brain are completely separate things, and that instead the actions of the brain (what the person does in life and how they act) will decide the fate of the soul. This is at least partially proven by the Dragonborn's ability to be an overall good person despite having the soul of a dragon which are known to be elitist as shit. less

That entry proves only one thing: that our character believes what other people believe.
A person is influenced by their experience much more than by their initial traits, it's a fact. But it's not blsck or white, the truth is always somewhere in between.

As far as I know, that's one of the only pieces of official evidence discussing the location of Sovngarde, so I'm inclined to believe it.

Well, if it is really in Aetherius, it makes Lorky an even bigger liar.
