I suppose the reason I like fantasy is because it's so vastly different to our own world, and since most aspects of it are made up you don't really need to bother on whether or not it "makes sense" from a realistic stand point. And for me, it's kind of "the more alien the world, the better". GoT I like, but I still find Middle-Earth and Tamriel to be more enjoyable. More new things to see and learn about, I suppose would be a good way of explaining it. Just in TES itself, I find Morrowind's world (with mushroom trees and living Gods) to be a lot more entertaining than Skyrim's (with the more familiar Norse setting and (for fantasy) dragons), which in turn I prefer over Oblivion, which Magic and Elves aside, is a lot more similar to a real-world Medieval setting.
Which is one of the reason's I've never been able to get into Fallout. All or at least most of the places and items can be found in the real world, and I've never fou...    less

MSGO is undoubtedly recommended. It improves Morrowind's visuals incredibly well, and is really a must-have for pretty much all players. I haven't used Tamriel Rebuilt much (Not too keen on...

I've always found Skyrim's Guilds to be a bit dreary, to be honest; the Thieves Guild's in disarray, DB's all but fallen apart, the Companions and College are under threat. The Dawnguard were probably my favorite of the bunch (Though the Thieves Guild did have some good moments), though I also think the Bard's College could've been so much more than three fetch quests.
Oblivion's Thieves Guild has always been one of my favorites, followed closely by the Brotherhood. The Mages Guild was quite fun too (I actually think it's the first one I completed through to the end), but I found the Fighter's Guild to be a bit lacking. Knights of the Nine was also pretty good, now that I think about it, though it did feel a bit shorter compared to the others.
Morrowind's Guilds were all pretty fun, particularly the Fighters for me. I could never really get into the Mages, though, I guess because they just pale in comparison to the Telvanni. One that I often feel is overlooked is Bloodmo...    less

Plus the LotR movies practicaly introduced me to the world(s) of fantasy, so nostalgia's a pretty big factor too.

The only reason Bethesda is using this sorry excuse is to further milk Skyrim without having to invest the money like they would have to do with an entirely new Elder Scrolls.
Eventually, I think we will get Elder Scrolls 6, as fans are already getting pissed with Bethesda for rerealsing Skyrim 50 times on every console imaginable. The hype will die soon and they'll be forced to make a new TES if they are to remain in the good graces of the RPG fanbase.

Who knows, maybe they want to make another Fallout first, so both series would have five main titles. That gives us a release date of about 2020/1, right?  less

Definitely Morrowind for me. I only played it after Skyrim and Oblivion, and it took some getting used to at first, but over time (and with a Hell of a lot of mods) it became a favorite of mine.

The quests are all fun, it's incredily detailed, the setting is great, and without the fast travel you get to really take in all the game has to offer. I've even grown quite fond of playing it without mods now.
Truly a great game, even if the combat is the worst thing ever :P

I wrote a manual for modding Morrowind earlier this year. You may recognize me from r/morrowind. 
Anyways, I'm someone who loves Morrowind. Haven't really tried any Fallouts, Oblivion loses me pretty quickly, Skyrim is something I just don't have enough interest in to engage with anymore. Morrowind hits that sweet spot for me, as of this moment I have the most powerful character I've ever created at level 40 and not even halfway done with the factions or main quest. 
I prefer a heavily modded game myself, but I spent years playing vanilla.   less
