Thanks for the tips guys.  My third attempt this time with the more appropriately named "Vargr" is going much better.  Power armor makes molly's much more manageable lol.

    Name:  Vargr

    DoB:  4/21/17

    Class:  Sniper-Ninja with a tank!

    Difficulty:  Survival

    Current Level: 13

I'm currently at Bunker Hill and trying to decide where to go from here. Current options are to rescue Nick and continue the MQ, meet up with Deacon, head to Cambridge Police Station, or clear out Pickman's Gallery?

Vargr - I will say joining the BOS is a helpful early option for access to vertibirds (fast travel). Not a super quick quest to get them but worthwhile in the long run.

Yeah that's my plan once the Prydwen shows up.  Those vertibirds will be very nice I've already made one trip from Bunker Hill to Red Rocket in order to pick up Dogmeat.  I think I'm going for Pickman's Blade first, I'm already right there.  But first I need to assign Dogmeat to a closer settlement, just incase I have to abandon him to another pack of gouls, I do not want to make that walk again I almost died three times and had to abandon my power armor near Covenant Dogmeat was carrying all my back up Fusion Cores.

Hangman's alley is central enough an my go-to...though it doens't have a full compliment of workstations if you havent perked local leader...but Diamond City is nearby.

Man, I haven't had much time to play games recently, but when this weekend comes you can count on me to make another character. Just gotta remind myself to use more chems, I think that's my downfall.

same here... my first playthrough on SMODE ever...JET + Deliverer = Damage over time...that was the only way I could get past the courser. so many deaths to finally figure that out lol

A powerful enough gun plus enough AP to let you queue up enough shots in VATS before he can activate his stealthboy will also work, since once the attacks a queued the hit rate won't change even if he goes invisible.

Dammit! I completely missed this thread when it started. I wanted to participate, but I'm expecting (hoping) to get Resident Evil 7 as a birthday present tonight.

I got a few hours of game time last night and I gotta say I'm starting to feel a little OP.  Currently I'm level 18 and toting the Deliverer, Tinker Tom's Special, and Pickman's Blade.  I ended up ditching the power armor due to lack of cores and being too stingy to buy any, but honestly after level 10 I havn't really felt like I needed it.  I rescued Nick, easy peasy the triggermen never saw me coming, and didn't even bother with Skinny Malone I just dropped a mine at his feet while he was talking to nick and then ran out of the vault.  Currently I'm half way through Fort Hagan.

Vargr: in the immortal words of Han Solo - " Don't get cocky kid!"

But yeah the deliverer was my main choice on my main SMODE playthrough. You'll be fine against Kellogg. Things def get hairy with random deathclaws and the upcoming Courser...good luck!
