    Ice Wraiths, A Study

:) Finished mine! I hope it looks okay. Might add a map later but I believe it is all complete. Fun event! Couldn't think of a punny enough title. Maybe next time :P

Did I do the tags right? I feel like I didn't.

I’m fairly new to posting on this site, though I’ve read many of the character builds and other forums as well as story blogs written by some of my friends from a Discord server.

This event sounds intriguing and even though I’m new to the Lore group, I’m interested in participating and actually I've already written the article (a Word document with pictures, a map, and screenshots). Since this will be my first contribution I’ve chosen a fairly innocuous and passive creature (since by definition a Bestiary includes both aggressive and passive creatures) ~ the Blue Butterfly.

Among other things, the article compares some of the features of the Blue Butterfly with a butterfly of another type. It's written in the form of correspondence from my in-game character’s perspective.

I plan to post my contribution as a WIP in the Workshop since this is my first contribution and I desire constructive criticism and advice on how to improve it. My article is saved in a Word document and though I see that I can copy/paste it here using the Source code option, all formatting and images are lost. Is there another way to copy/paste the article without losing all the formatting and images?

    Alright I have a question:

So yesterday evening I got carried away and wrote a ton on my “Soul Study”. Now, the article is more a bestiary of all the creatures that one can summon via conjuration, and a bunch of self forged lore about the nature of conjuration magic. None of it is actually about an animal or a plant, but about souls and spirits and all that jazz… will this be allowed in the contest? Or will I have to post my article separately from the house of orsinium glories?

The easiest way to do so is to find a way to convert your word into a HTML code that you can then copy into the Vault format by putting the code in the <> menu on the editing bar. Don't hesitate to put a link to your project here once you manage to post it. There's not much time left for the event but I'm always glad to help.

Well that depends a lot on the article itself at this point to be honest. What do you mean by summonable creatures? I know Oblivion allowed for animals to be summoned but apart from that most summons are daedric. This event focuses on creatures that live on Nirn, so anything about daedra would automatically be disqualified for the event (it's in the rules).

If the article focuses on the souls of non daedric creatures then it would be fine. As I said I can't really say for sure without seeing the article itself at this point.

I found some online tools that convert Word documents into HTML code. The only thing that seems to be lost is images but once I get the document into the Vault via the source code I should be able to go back in and edit my post to insert the images. Done! Thank you for your help!

This is my first contribution. I would appreciate constructive criticism and advice on how to improve the article. Thank you!

The event continues until the seventh so if you can still post an article before then that would be amazing guys. If you can't do it in time but you still want to publish an article, please do so. The more information we've got at our disposal here at the Vault the better.

I'm not showing up on the list of participants and since I'm new to the group on this site, I'm not sure where I need to sign up for this event. I posted on page 7 of this thread but that may not have signed me up. If someone can direct me to where I need to sign up to participate in this event, I would appreciate it.

My contibution is currently a WIP in the Workshop and will be complete before the deadline.

    WIP Mysterium Bestia: Blue Butterfly

Another question: When the article is complete do I make a new topic in the Lore group and copy/paste the article there before deleting it from the Workshop group or is there another method for doing this?

    Thank you in advance!

You not appearing among the participants is entirely my fault, my bad Gail.

I haven't had the time to give your WIP a good look again but I'll make sure to set apart some tonight.

As to posting it; you've got the right idea. Copy-Paste into Lore and once you're sure everything went well make sure to delete the WIP thread.
