    Apology accepted, captain Needa :P

No apology given. It has nothing to do with your concerns. It has to do with end-game trial mechanics.

And I still maintain that you should be more than able keep yourself alive in full heavy armor while using Rally (2H skill) and Breath of Life. I soloed a world boss in Stonefalls last night in 5 light, 1 heavy, and 1 medium on my magicka dragonknight.

lol Legion. so I do have a few thoughts...

    1. who was asking for Fallout 4 VR? I saw news of this a while back and there was literally no hype. I freaking love FO4 and I could not care less about this.

    2. maybe this is a rope-a-dope ploy... like this sucked so hard they'll do a suprise announcment about ES6 by the end of E3. (yeah I don't think so either).

    3. maybe they really truly believe what they said before which was what they WANT to do for ES6 can't be done with current systems/programming/tech etc. Maybe they're saving us from being dissapointed by releasing something before it's ready (ahem No Man's Sky)

So, a year ago, Todd Howard said this:

“We have three longer-term projects we’re doing that are all…we’ll talk about them at a much future date. But they’re different than anything we’ve done before while also being a Bethesda-style game; big and crazy. But in many ways different than things we’ve done before.”

Fast forward one year and their E3 'showcase' doesn't mention ANYTHING about any of them? And, yes, I'm working on the assumption that any game that has a number 2 in the title doesnt fit with 'different than anything we've done before'

That means the first of those 'big and crazy' new games isn't getting announced before E3 2018, and probably released - at the very earliest in Autumn 2018.

At this rate, I think I'll be dead and buried before they get around to Elder Scrolls VI...

Again, and I said this before, I just don't get it. Not at all. Bethesda is a super-successful company that made huge money from Skyrim and Fallout 4. They could quite easily go out and hire people - different poeple - to work on Elder Scrolls VI (and Fallout 5 if they wanted) right now, without taking even a pause from their 'big and crazy' projects. Why not just do that? Why not just do Elder Scrolls VI and their big crazy projects - you know - at the same time? I don't get why they push games that are 100% guaranteed to sell by the bucketload right to the back of a VERY long queue!

I can't think of another business that would say, in effect 'we don't want to do something that, with 100% certainty, would make us millions of dollars'. Bizarre...

I 100% agree, Paul. Bethesda could literally make ES:VI with Morrowind's Engine, and people would still throw out their cash for it. As for new Developers, even if they had to double their team they'd still make more than enough money from ES:VI sales. I don't know, it just seems like they're trying to milk Skyrim for everything they can get, meanwhile ES as a series is slowly being forgotten.

But, back to the matter at hand...

Yeah, I honestly think that the whimsical, definitely not paid-mods "Creation Club" is top of my list here (Which, just to clarify, I hope falls flat on its face). VR (Which I have mixed feelings about), an Expansion for Legends (Still not quite sold here, either), and a re-release of a six year old game on a new console? Yeah, not very impressed.

VR is still so new and so clunky that the lack of hype is really no surprise. Maybe implementing it into such big titles like Doom and Fallout is to build hype? They need people to play to get feedback to improve, and I assume the goal here is to eventually have VR become the standard. That's looking really far ahead, mind. But legitimately good VR would be a monumental achievement in gaming history. Will be*. We just have to slog through all this to get there.

And I think you're probably right about Bethesda not having the tech yet. I can't imagine what they envision (maybe FO4 VR is the trial run for ES6) but it must be so massive that only top tier PCs could run it, or they have something so ground breaking that they have to actually wait for the supporting technology to be developed first. We can dream. Caesar's got the right of it though. People would throw money at a Morrowind-looking ES6 if it was coming out. The fact that Bethesda's E3 was a fart of a showcase tells me that they're hiding something big. They don't just get to the top like they have and then just peter out. Nah...they're just biding their time.

Woof. They need a seriously good PR rep for this one. Or Hines can just keep track of the things he says!

I feel like that FO VR thing got started when everybody thought VR was gonna be the next big thing but as time has went on most people have decided it's really not.
