Yeah Chris - no issue with taking a realistic amount of weapons. Especially if the melee is a combat knife or similar.

True, I mean, you could probably carry a couple of those

A little update on my playthrough - I'm level 22 now and ran a bunch of missions for the RR, finding their distrust of the Institute legitimate and am intrigued by the fact that they seem to be the only ones doing something about it.

In the Main Quest I've taken out Kellogg and now have Deliverer/ Scoped Kellogg's Pistol combo for my gunslinger. I've perked Agility a bit more to up my Vats accuracy and get the sneak combos (ninja/mister sandman), but the mix of sneak (deliverer) and "ranged" combat (kellogg's scoped) are keeping things interesting. I visited the armor vendor in Bunker Hill, which triggered perking Armorer and upgrading my green shirt /combat boots into "armored" with ballistic weave for a nice aesthetic/protection combo.

Having fun! Next is trying to get to Virgil I guess. I haven't decided how to handle that yet and have talked to Danse about possible BoS recrutiment...but I don't know about those weirdos :)

    What was your first legendary?

I didn't end up doing this, put it on hold for a while, playing survival mode!

RR would definitely be my most moral choice in real life. BoS may be cool, but I don't personally agree with their beliefs.

Tried this. First Legendary was a Wounding Rolling Pin. I hate my life.

BHAHHAHAHAH omg that's amazing. No man, you can totally just take that and go melee build. You don't have to keep the same weapon forever hahaha

I got a nocturnal 10mm and immediately traded it in for wastelander's friend and then kept upgrading pistols...

Well, considering my collection is now

    Wounding Rolling Pin x2

    Furious Rolling Pin

    Freezing Rolling Pin

    Berserker's Rolling Pin

I may as well start a freakin' Cook build.

Another different way that I had in mind was starting the game differently, like leaving the vault with a mindset of being so overwhelmed that your wife dies, your baby son has been taken, and you can't find him with Codsworth (if you even decide to go with Codworth) you kind of wander around, and then you get the freedom from there. You can run into Preston and help him, turning into the Minutemen General and going down that road, meeting Danse and the Brotherhood, and helping Danse and his friends, or any other playstyle. The way you can explain that is up to you.

A little update on this since I realize I never did one.

I took my Pistol based auto-biographical Character to level 40. Enough to snag a good Western Revolver and a few other choice pistols. The main issue became being so spread out in SPECIAL stats, I was left not being able to take higher end perks (say, gun fu), but not enough extra points to spend in AGI to get there. It left me in a bit of limbo from a PERK stand point...and sort of a spread thin generalist as opposed to any sort of specialist.

I will say though, from an RP perspecitve, it made me slow way down in the play through. I was really thinking "how would I handle this...which dialogue option is best?" etc.

And that was sort of the point of the expirement.

Hey there Motty! I read this post back when it was first posted but recently had an idea that I think would somewhat correlate with this. I'd like to hear your thoughts! So what I want to do is a roleplay that has next to no planning as far as quests, faction alignment(maybe no alignment even), or even weapons and equipment. I sorta tried it out with my Vagabond character, however for this I'm thinking more of an adventerous traveler who just takes things as they come and adapts. Like I could picture his journey starting out sipping on beer while hearing Vadim Bobrov blabber on about ridiculous stories, only to hear about a place called the Combat Zone, with which curiosity would pull him to go investigate and hopefully lead to a chain of unforeseen events of adventure and peril. Like not at all focused on leveling or "getting anywhere" but rather sparatic decisions that could go anywhere. What's your take on this?
