Chimer and Ayleid fargmented from the Aldmer at different time periods right? Which begs the question as to why their languages would be similar. My first guess would be that it might actually be a lot closer to old Aldmeris than the Altmer would like you to believe, the other is that both peoples had a lot of dealings with the daedra in one way or another, could it be that they are both flavours of Aldmeris mixed with Daedric?

I would say they have/did make their own language up thanks to the daedra. Think of it like English, you have Old English, Mid English, and Late English. So at first the original Chimers and Ayeleids more than likely spoke Aldmeris like their brethren, but once they settled into the parts of Tamriel that they would settle in, Cyrodiil and Morrowind, they developed their own language with Daedric infused in it. The current day Dunmer speaks a more defined and refined version that language. That is just what I think because this has happened with real life languages such as English, Spanish, and more

Exactly my thoughts, as both peoples were influenced by the daedra and their language (unlike their cousins from Alinor or Valenwood) their languages show some similarities but have over time evolved into two very distinct languages... especially seeing no one speaks Ayleid anymore either.

So Ayleid is basically the Latin of the ES world, lol. That has always been my thoughts, also. I like to think Altmer speak a more modern version of Aldmeris, Bosmer speak a simpler version of Aldmeris, Ayleid and Dunmer spoke/speak a infused version of Aldmeris, and the Orcs speak a rougher version of Aldmeris. Now, Dunmer and Ayleid languages could be considered cousin languages like Spanish and Italian. Also, all of them use about the same vowel clusters of ae, ie, and a couple others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

What exactly is the holy Ordinator's Regalia, the Golden Mask of Devotion and Robes of Triune Faith? I found this in Ordinator Edict: Mandate Seven, and was curious as to what these pieces of clothing were.

Also, in Ordinator Edict: Mandate Sixteen it says

"Heterodox religious practice is hereby banned within the city limits of Vivec. This includes, but is not limited to, veneration of the Eight Apostasies, Hist sap or moon-sugar rituals, devotional Malacathian bloodsport, and Daedric rites of communion. Any citizen who takes part in such ceremonies shall be jailed and subjected to corporal reeducation."

So basically if you were a Dunmer and still worshiped the Good Daedra than you would be reducated, does this mean they would tourment you until you accepted the Tribunal, right? What would this tourment include, or did it invole brainwashing as well?

I would like to also know who were the Eight Apostasies?

Seeing the extensive list provided and the fact it pertains to every single religion, I would say it's the eight divines in their many forms that are forbidden. Remember, Talos doesn't exist yet in the interregnum.

I don't know a whole lot about the ordinators except for the fact that they were absolutely brutal in Morrowind so the first option wouldn't be too surprising to be honest. They are a military police of the faith. That's about all you need to know to see why I think it's possible. Brainwashing through illusion spells or the classic "command humanoid" spells could work as well, but for some reason, I don't feel like those would fit the ordinators. Then again I don't know a whole lot about them.

Alright, thank you. I knew Talos didn't exist yet, but I did kind of think it the eight divines.

Alright, once again thank you. I honestly have never heard of the Ordinators before, mainly because I hardly know anything about the Dunmer and their culture, so this insight is helpful thank you.

Oh, I also meant to post this also, though if it doesn't belong here then I will delete it., but in Blessed Almalexia's Fables for the Afternoon, there is an easter egg of sort. In the story "The Gifted Guar" in ends with this sentence "His wife slapped her husband's arm and told him, "You fool! Never look a gift guar in the mouth!", which a play on the proverb "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth." which is another way fo saying don't be ungrateful when you receive a gift.

The Ordinators are the dudes you see walking around in gold mohawk armour that is modelled after the appearance of Indoril Nerevar. The notice is saying that it is illegal to wear to armour if you are not a member of the order which was the case in TES 3 and they would attack you on site if you did.

Ahh, thank you. I have never played Morrowind before and only recently began to dwell into Dunmer Culture and such.

Has anybody got around to reading Truth in Sequence yet?
