Taking a leaf from Tenebrous' sheaf, I thought it might be fun to record my adventures through ESO Morrowind from the eyes of something utterly alien to me: An Argonian. Really it's an excuse to post screenshots and do a scant bit of writing, truth be told, as there'll be no profound insights here.

Warning, spoilers ahead for those who have yet to play this expansion chapter.

"A bitter breeze has blown me through stormy seas and over weeping waters but I am at last free, the smooth shores and sweet swamps of vivid Vvardenfell greet my eyes, and the sun shines warmly on sore scales above the town of Seyda Neen. I am called here, by the moon and stars, by the sand-strewn winds of fickle fate, and by the sibilant words of sacred sap. Flora and fauna whisper like a frond's ripple over a shining surface. Memories not my own sometimes seem to slink across my mind like wamasu through a sunken wood. I feel as though I have been here before..."

When-Doves-Cry is a Warden, a protector of Tamriel's wilds. His story starts on an empty ship, dressed in the vestigal garments of a slave.

"I have nothing to my name but the scale-scratching cloth I soon discarded, so to survive I will need to adapt and get to know this land. I can feel the flowers sway and smell their pollen soar, the spores and growths of fungi make me feel almost at home. To be comfortable I will need make allies of the Dunmer living here as well as the beasts, plants, and cool winds of the island.

"I feel as though I should know what he means, but I don't. Yet some small part of me laughs all the same."

"It isn't long before I stumble upon one Deminah Salvi. She is attractive for a smooth-skin, I cannot help feeling that her attire is aesthetically pleasing, being slightly revealing and drawing my eye. She needs help from somebody new, someone who is not afraid to wade through a morning's early dew and feel the dirt of earth beneath a starry sky."

"Cherishes-Water likes liquid, I am to moisten her scales with a bath before she will give up her secrets"

"Like a smitten hatchling starved of company, I try to impress with a trick I didn't know I could do. It fails, so off I went to get her special brew."

"She likes how it tickles pouring over her shimmering scales, the way it runs and trickles down her parched throat. I am faintly arroused, but mainly glad I didn't have to pay Findun for it. That would feel almost dirty, and ruin the connection I feel for an egg-sister. She reveals to me that somebody hid something I may want to see inside the stump of a nearby tree."

    'Say the words, Hortator.'

'Now I am the mightiest of your children.'

Let this sermon be consolation to those who read it that are destined to die.

"The ending of the words is ALMSIVI. The wamasu slinks over the mind's bracken."

"With the information revealed by Marise, I returned to the aesthitically attired and scarred deputy governor, who doesn't quite instruct me to steal anything but I think she actually wants me to. I am unsure and feeling a little autistic."

"To avoid chains slicing my scales or the sharp bite of the lash against already ruptured flesh, I need to be cautious in this exotic and beautiful country. Extremist views still prevail in some of Morrowind's Houses, and although I trust the whispers and almost formless memories, I must be careful and adapt. If it is for the greater good, and the deputy governor seems to think it is, then I may make a badly needed friend today, and help the lives of those illegally tormented by the sanction of corrupt officials."

"My trust in her was well-founded, but just then a distress signal sounded. The lighthouse lit up like the newly risen sun reflects off a mirrored pond, and to Firemoth Island we sailed."

"For the first time upon foreign yet familiar soil, I felt the land itself respond to my call. Armed only with that which it would grant, nature healed me and harmed my enemies, eager to aid but make the unjust fall."

"From a fate worse than death, a cage without a key and a life without freedom, the Bones of Morrowind have struck a victory for justice with me as their agent. I have a powrful friend and contact now, but can't shake a feeling that a promotion was Deminah Salvi's intention. Or maybe I am being a pessimist, an old guar with a sour face. Today was a good day."

Love this little entry! :) Good to see Doves exploring coming out of his shell a little. Poor guy.

Seriously good entries! I wish I had the creativity that you possess.

Oddly enough, though, I have a certain Prince song running through my head now.

I mut admit I did like that little Elder Scrolls III Easter Egg with the Census and Excise clerk mentioning about how people change their birth sign on repeat visits. Man I must have re-started Morrowind at least 100 times back in the day!

And of course it simply cannot be coincidental that we have Syndelius Ergalla here and then Socucius Ergalla in ESIII.

I'm now going to be searching endlessly around Vvardenfell for other similar 'throwbacks' (or should that be 'throw forwards' as ESO is set earlier?)

    Great pics by the way...

You will find quite a bit. I am thoroughly enjoying this chapter of ESO.

This is going to be quite a nostalgia trip for me (even though I haven't played Morrowind yet XD)

I think I've accidentally spoiled myself on the plot of ESO: Morrowind when I was searching for *cough* research materials. Still, it'll be fun to see your progress.

To be honest, I considered doing an IC thoughts thing for my Travels thread. But I already have AotQ and other future writing projects, so I figured I might as well become a snark god instead. But I really like this, so far!

Thank you Edana :) I think Doves needed a bit of gentle encouragement and some advice from a dear friend to come out of his egg-enclosure. 'Gonians are weird, but not entirely unrelatable it turns out :)

Thank you Patriarch :) I would say that with your combined knowlege of ESO's mechanics, setting and lore, and how it all wrks together, that you could easily do something way more creative! Sometimes just the way we think is creativity. Like, it's not something that is aspired to, it just is, and we all possess it beacsue we each have a different perspective that another will be inspired by.

And yeah :D I gave When-Doves-Cry purple scales. And it was raining :p

Also, I have a question. How is ESO Morrowind supposed to start? In the YT vids I watched for it, there was an intro that had you being rescued by the assassin lady. When I booted up on Wednesday, my character had a letter giving a backstory why he was there, an invite. With Doves I had nothing, just a guy on an empty ship with nary a clue as to why he was there.

Thank you Paul :) I will be looking for these easter eggs too and have probably already missed loads! Syndelius Ergalla says something else, somethig about "in another life I feel as though I've done this job before" :D I paraphrase, but it made me lol.

Thank you Kais :) It's quite fun, I encourage everyone to do the same in the name of research (that means looking at naked dunmer fan art, right?) :p

Thank you Tene :) Your project is obviously the biggest inspiration here, and I love the snark god angle you took. Do please keep that going :D
