I have missed the previous few updates, but was a pleasure to catch up today! Still loving the snark, and yeah! What's up with the chick with dark hair, and why can't we play as a hot brunette Altmer? Look at her stroppy face! Maybe she wanted nice honey-coloured locks like her kinsmer?

Lol at the items you're collecting there :D

I really dislike that player Altmer can't have darker hair. Especially jarring since in Skyrim, their hair could be jet-black, and it looked pretty nifty. As for the items I looted from the indoctrinated mer (I was actually reluctant to kill them, but might as well make a profit from the whole ordeal), what really intrigues me is the Smuggler's Doll. A teddy bear with secret compartments? I want.

Now you say it I want a Smuggler's Doll too. I'd set aside my mudcrab plushie for such a delight. Also, loving that mercenary attitude of yours.

Once again ignoring the urgent task of getting to Firsthold, I popped by Castle Rilis, the ruins belonging to the infamous Kinlord Rilis the Twelfth. You don't really learn what he did in this quest, though going into the Banished Cells (which are beneath the Castle) reveals that he trafficked with Daedra, which is particularly bad juju amongst the Altmer. Anyways, a bastard son of this guy, Sorondil, is trying to get a magic crown to prove himself a worthy heir. Before you get to him, there are various skellys walking around... Which, in defiance of everything Elder Scrolls, are initially non-hostile.

    'Sup, bro?

After you've finished processing this, go find the mer. He tries to get the vault open by claiming his bloodline, which goes about as well as you'd expect.

After meeting with Sor, the skullys do get hostile, which sucks seeing as how we need to kill (re-kill?) some of the captains left behind to lower the wards. They actually live up to their rank, and are quite difficult; moreso because Sorondil doesn't help you. Jerk. Once they're dead, go to the vault, talk with Sor and his mom, then head into the vault. Multiple Rilis ancestors try to stop you, on account of Sorondil not really being a legitimate heir. Which is really harsh, but it means more stuff to kill!

    Grandpa, pls. Stahp.

Once you finally get the helm, Sor gets all excited and puts it on. This... Turns out to be not the best idea,

    Sotek would be proud!

Yep, turns out the helm turns anyone not a "true" Rilis into a werewolf. Which really speaks so much of the Altmeri obsession with lineage and ancestry that it's spooky. Sadly, Sor goes apeshit and you have to kill him. On your way out of the vault, listen to the honestly terrifying tales about the helm from the Rilis ghosts.

Hot damn, is this a Shakespeare tragedy?

Sadder still, you have to inform his mom that he's gone. You can either lie to her and say he fled through a portal with the helm, or choose to tell her the tragic truth. EIther way, you get your reward, and I felt the mom deserved to know the truth, no matter how harsh.

With that depressing quest out of the way, I went to hang with the skellymans, who are once again chill.

    So... Come here often?

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading.

On my way to finally getting Firsthold (and by extension Estre) out of the way, I found a nice merchant lady. Traveling merchants are quite common in ESO, but there are certain ones the game lets you extort for goodies (and an achievement if you can do it in every zone). You can identify them because they travel with horses, like poor Erinquen.

Finally, my fantasies of being an Oblivion Highwayman are fufilled!

Upon arrival at the city, you find it under seige by Estre's Daedra. Tempting though it may be to blame this on all the screwing off I did, it really doesn't matter when you get there, in Elder Scrolls tradition. The marine at the gate tells you to find Urcelmo, who has a plan to deal with the whole mess. Find him at the Mages Guild, where a rather chippy mage tells you her plan to lower the wards. Then, find Razum-dar, who tells you to go into the Oblivion Gates to close them. They're surprisingly accurate to ESIV: Oblivion, despite not turning the sky red.

Getting some serious Kvatch vibes here...

The gates aren't too difficult to close, especially compared to Oblivion, so just go full Doomguy and storm Hell, closing all three gates. When that's done, find Raz, who tells you Estre is inside the gate within the castle. This battle is difficult, but pretty epic; you, Razum-dar, Urcelmo and the chippy mage all fight the mad Kinlady, who summons guardian atronachs you need to whack before you can damage her.

Through the fire and the flames, we carry on!

Unfortunately, I died twice, which meant that she respawned at full heatlh. Thankfully, I whacked her eventually. Third time's the charm, huh?

You can't kill stuff if you're dead. Unfortunately.

Once she's killed and the day is saved, go find Ayrenn, who congratulates you, citing you as a reason the other Alliances will fear the Dominion, which is pretty epic. Once the quest is complete, she tells you to go to Skywatch for our next destination: Valenwood! Also, we get to see Jimila again. Unfortunately, Naemon chooses this point to pop up and be sad about his wife being a traitor. Er, a dead traitor.

But I had more important things to attend to. Like memorializing Rahzam's second and third demises.

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading.

Having reached Level 15 means a few things. First of all, Level 15 unlocks a second skill bar, which is always useful. Rahzam now carries a greatsword, in addition to his mace and shield. This will give him some more DPS, eventually.

    Also, it looks pretty cool.

Second, it means I'll go and do the next Main Quest bit. The Prophet tells you that there's one of Mannimarco's minions running about Vulkhel Guard (or Davon's Watch for EP players, and Daggerfall for DC characters), and tells you to find his little hideout to learn more about Sai Sahan's situation. To do this, you must question two people in the city, which with the Intimidation and Persuasion perks is pretty damn easy. It also lets you avoid bribery, which means more monies for us. Both of them tell you the location of the hideout, so go pop by for a visit. And murder.

    Huehuehue, murder time.

Fight your way past the skellies, and whack the boss vampire cultist, who isn't that tough really.

"Weakling!" cries the vampire, just as I kill him.

Then, use the fancy magic orb, and watch as Abnur Tharn pops up. He's pretty much a jerk, but a funny one at least, and this is true for the rest of the questline. I usually take the Persuasion option of convincing him that I'm a Worm Cultist. Nevermind the dead vampire nearby.

"This one is totally a Worm Cultist. Honest." -Rahzam-do

He tells you that they do, in fact, have Sai locked up in Coldharbour, but doesn't say where precisely, giving the very good reason that we're just lackeys. Or he thinks, at least. Take the fancy orb to the Prophet, who starts to use it to look for Sai. Then, chat with Lyris, and you're done! This was actually a good exercise in getting the feel for a more complete build for Rahzam; I added Trapping Webs and Shield Charge to his mace skillbar, and started work on his Two-Handed bar. Good stuff.

And now for something completely different.

Ah, nothing like fresh deer life-force.

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading.

Right only on two fronts, Pat: Though I am just Level 15, and I do want to tank BC, Rahzam is no vampire. The skill in the screenshot is Strife. Also, Rahzam still has his orange striped fur, rather than the pale weirdness vampire Khajiit get.

Ah! So Rahzam is a nightblade. For some reason I was thinking he was a DK. As for the color, I thought you were stage 1 or something. My stage 4, Dunmer master vampire has given up hope for a sun tan.

Great updates, Tenebrous :) Killing the kinlady and ending the threat of the heritance... for now. Lucky you preserved their armour, eh? :D Meeting Abnur is the highlight here: "This one is totally a Worm Cultist. Honest." -Rahzam-do XD

After getting some real-world monies, I decided to spend it in ESO. On what, you may ask? Housing! Namely, I got the fully-furnished version of Cliffshade, the medium-sized Altmer house. I didn't get Sleek Creek House, the medium Khajiit house, because Cliffshade is both cheaper and comes with better decor. And with the remaining Crowns, I got myself a few Crown Crates, of which the only noteworthy loot was an Ashlander costume, a silly-looking Dwarven monocle, and a Nix-Hound pet called Skeeter, who is Rahzam's new best friend.

Now all I need is a giant Sheogorath Sheggorath statue!

I then popped by Greenwater Cove to do the quest there. Basically, the Maormer are trying yet again to invade Auridon, which to anyone who knows lore won't be a surprise. We need to activate a defensive magic thing to blow up their ships. To figure out how the hell to use it, find the scout, who is surrounded by Maormer bodies, clearly making her more badass then half the NPCs in Tamriel.

    100% BRUTAL!

She tells you to nab some Welkynd Stones, so go do that. It was during this objective that I got surrounded by six Maormer, and this combined with lag meant another demise for Rahzam. However, the wayshrine was actually closer to the objectives, so I just respawned there! Huehuehue.

    Finally, a useful death.

Then, go put the rocks into the doohickey. It activates a statue beneath you. The idea here is that you go through the Maormer forces... But it's really quicker and easier to just jump down.

    Rahzam used Hyper Beam!

Once you activate it, it lights the Maormer ships on fire, which is pretty cool. And that's that; return to the questgiver for your reward.

I also went and once again made a tombstone for Rahzam's death.

That's all for this post! Thanks for reading.
