Repentance (Restoring Aura morph): This morph now restores Health and Stamina based on your character level instead of your Max Resource. It also only restores Stamina to the casting Templar, but continues to restore Health to the casting Templar and his allies.

Ah, ok, so they'll kill my only way of not dying when grinding groups. Good job.

@overhate I guess you missed the whole "proposed," not set in stone part. Besides, and no offense but, if Repenance is your "only way of not dying " when grinding groups, you need to adjust your build and game play. I'd be happy to help.

Nah, my play is fine. And no, it's not my only heal, I have Vigor and Ritual of Retribution on my backbar, but they are castable heals, not to mention they are both heal over time.

The M-Templar already has a huge advantage over the S-Templar in the fact that the M-morph of Puncturing Strikes heals you for % of damage done while the S-morph doesn't. In that aspect, the M-Templar heals as he does damage and always ends group grinds at full HP. The S-Templar doesn't have a healing attack so ATM Repentance is the way to get past that.

So if they add healing to Biting Jabs then by all means, change Repentance into Stamina restore only. But otherwise it's a total push of Templars towards M-templar.

edit: 1 min after I posted this I saw that Vigor is also getting screwed:

"Vigor: Increased the cost of this ability and its morphs by approximately 30%."

So I'm down one heal and my other one gets its cost increased. Yep, "you can play the game anyway you want".....as long as what you want coincides with what Zenimax has chosen for you. It's already frustrating that damage depends on the type of armour (WTF?) and that some races are WAY better in a specific role than others.

First. Stamplars weren't exactly at the top of the dps food chain anyway.

Second. If you can't keep yourself alive while wearing heavy armor and the HOTs you mentioned, then quite frankly, your playstyle IS a problem. My stamplar does quite well in medium. And I'm not especially concerned with the *proposed * changes either. I can handle it. But let's get real, there are stamina classes with less access to HOTs than a templar, but tackle solo content nicely. You can tell yourself whatever you want, but play style (how you approach combat) is important. Yes, ZOS said you can play as you want. And you can. They DIDN'T say that every single play style would make you a virtual god.

Third. If periodic class changes bother you, then maybe you should stop playing a fluid, ongoing MMO and go back to forever-static single player games. If you want to play an MMO, learn to adapt and overcome. It'll make you a much better player.

Fourth. You keep missing the part about the patch notes being subject to change. If you were concerned enough about the changes to follow the developers' notes, you'd know that just yesterday the lead combat director said that the *proposed* changes to repentance and vigor are being reevaluated.

Well, thanks for the lecture. I guess after playing single player games since '88, LAN multiplayer since '96 and MMOs since 2006 (WoW, LotRO, GW2, SW:TOR, ESO, etc.) I needed someone to tell me the difference ;)

Yes, stamplars are not the top. Nerfing them more is no solution to this problem.

ESO was marketed as an online application of the Elder Scrolls series. Being able to play "your way" and be effective has always been a part of the ES series.

And, no, I'm not "concerned enough". The only MMO I ever had any emotions invested was WoW, and it's long screwed. Now I expect them (MMOs) to get screwed over time, so I'm not surprised. In here, I'm just taking part in a discussion.

Fair enough. Seems we're roughly the same age. I lectured because your comments lacked the "storied experience" as outlined in your "resume." After your explanation, it just seems like you're griping for griping's sake. I bet you'll feel better after a good nap and a Snickers.

Fear not, your stamplar will be more than viable, even if the changes are implemented as is. If it's not viable, just remember that it's on your end. On the PTS, stamplars are doing quite well solo and a bit better in groups. You can find this information rather easily, but since you're not super concerned, you'll just have to wait and see for yourself.

Well, I'm sure it will be viable if I switch to Redguard, Medium Armour and Dual Wield/Bow. However, I don't want to. I want to be viable as a Nord with a greatsword (both bars) and all Heavy Armour. And if I can't be - I'll just move to other games.

But this thread was going too optimistic and positive and I can't have that. Game industry has become too greedy and needs to be constantly bashed :P

Anyways, it's 2 past midnight here, so I wish me good night and to you - good gaming :)

If squashing optimism was your agenda, you should've just said so from the beginning. Lol. It would've saved all this needless back and forth. I'm still optimistic, though - sorry. Good night!
