When I saw the Build-a-Mod Event, I thought that it was for people that know how to create mods for Skyrim and other games and stayed clear of it. The next time I logged on, I decided to take a look and I'm glad that I did. So, here is my idea. The Vigilants of Stendarr are the best faction I saw but they were wasted on one same dialogue said by everyone and a house worth less then the leather shield you found in Helgen.

This mod idea is to make them an interesting faction worth taking a look at. And now, I present to  you:

    RISE OF THE VIGILANTS

The Vigilants of Stendarr have been present on Nirn since the Oblivion Crisis. They are sworn to exterminating all monsters from the face of Nirn. But, their primary target are the Daedra and their devout worshipers. In 4E 201, they were nearly wiped out by the Volkihar vampires. But, one of them survived the bloodsuckers purge and now, he seeks the Last Dragonborn to help him rebuild his Order and banish the Daedra from Mundus.

    JOINING THE VIGILANTS

After you finish the Dawnguard questline on the side of the Dawnguard, you will be approached by a Courier. He will give you a letter which tells you to go meet the person at the destroyed Hall of the Vigilants. After you get there, you will find a lone Vigilant of Stendarr. He will ask for your help in rebuilding the Hall. The Hall will be rebuilt in the style of Hearthfire homes. After rebuilding the Hall you will be given the option of leaving the Vigilant to recruit members on his own or join the Order yourself and help him further.

    QUESTLINE

If you decide to join the Vigilants, you will be tasked with recruiting five members. After doing so, you will have to go on a single mission with each one to prove that they can be Vigilants.

After that, the Vigilant will tell you that the Mythic Dawn is back and they are trying to open another Oblivion gate on the planes of Whiterun Hold. The questline will take you to all corners of Skyrim and bring you face to face with Mehrunes Dagon, Molag Bal, Azura and Meridia.

    DECISIONS

There will be several quest changing decisions throught the questline.

    - Joining the Vigilants after rebuilding the Hall

    - Asking for help from Meridia and Azura (harder after getting Dawnbreaker and turning against Azura in her quest)

    - Killing, curing or leaving Serana as a vampire

    - Joining or destroying the Mythic Dawn

    - Staying with, destroying or leaving the Vigilants at the end of the questline.

This is my first idea for a mod and I hope you like it. See ya' next time. Bye, bye! :D

Now that is really interesting D3LTA, I really like the take on the Vigilants as a really serious organization rather than...what is basically the equivelent of some regular hunters but with a focus on Daedra. By having that enemy (the Mythic Dawn), it really feels like a more complete, more interesting idea for a faction.

Awesome entry D3LTA, would I be hoping too much to think of the idea of seeing more from you with this Event? It'd definitely be awesome :D

The fact that Meridia and Azura are seen as Good in this is already great. Also, how would Azura help or will that be explained later?

Good ideas, Delta, the Vigilants and Stendarr himself were sort of wasted. I mean, the god can be looked at through many different lenses: He is the runt to the Khajiit and that is why he is mercy. To the Imperials of the Third Era he was justice, righteous rule and mercy, albeit a strange mercy as KotN lets us discover. For the Nords he was the bear, the shield-thane of Shor, both beresrker and the god to discover that taking prisoners of war is maybe better than slaughter. For the Altmer he is the apologist of man, those who revere him are more tolerant of the "lesser races."

Yet in Skyrim he is the god of zealots, existing to fortify your block skill and provide justification to mindless persecution. That in itself is an enjoyable theme to explore, to have NPC vigilants express their points of view or being able to examine the rights and wrongs would be good to see. As you say, each one we meet with very few exceptions all say the same thing.

I haven't ome up with everythin yet, but it would be awesome to see Azura using Azura's Star against Molag Bal or Meridia attacking Mehrunes Dagon with Dawnbreaker.

Meridia would be useful against Molag and Azura aginst Dagon, and I say that because in Daggerfall I think Azura and Bal were considered allies.
