Welcome one and all to the Modder's Conclave's second event under yours truly. This is the first Event of it's kind (ever I do believe) and hopefully will set a bit of a trend for things to come. The idea this time was to create an Event that would actually feel new, it isn't just rehashing one of the old ones, or doing something you've already seen done in the Conclave before, but setting up something new for the future.

And so, I created an Event that doesn't require any of that pesky, playing the game or downloading mods, hell you can take place even if you've never played a modded game before. And so, because my alloted word space for an introduction is just about up, allow me to introduce you all to the...

The Event is fairly simple in theory, the idea is to write up a pitch for a mod that you'd like to see exist. That's right, instead of just playing a mod (which is ever so boring) we're going to be getting down to it and putting an idea that we've had for a mod onto paper. Considering most of our member base can't actually script/create a mod, I want to point out that this is just theoretically creating a mod, you don't have to (though you absolutely can if you have the knowledge) create a mod that is usable in-game, it's just writing down an idea for a mod that you've had.

Now, while the groups is primarily centered around Skyrim at the moment, don't feel the need to confine yourself to just Skyrim. Fallout, Oblivion, Morrowind (Arena and Daggerfall too...if they had mods) and any game that fits within the RPG Group are all a part of this Event, giving you a near endless amount of creative freedom.  There are no restrictions on what type of mod you create, it could be something as simple as a weapon mod that adds a single weapon into the game, or something as complex as a complete overhaul or new questline. Basically, if you can come up with the idea, then you can write about it for this Event.

For those that do know how to create a mod, you absolutely can have a mod created and use this Event as a chance to promote your work. As long as it fits within the limited set of rules , you can pitch us a mod that you've already created or use it as a kind of teaser for a mod that you might be releasing soon, I know that a lot of the time you might not want to pitch a mod that you are actually making, but do remember that you can create a pitch for a mod you've already made (Especially if you want to give it an extra promotion).

    Tools and Helpful Links

Tamriel Vault Chat - I'll be in here as often as I can (or at least will have it open) during Weekends so if you ever need help writing down your ideas or possibly doing up some Banners, or other simple artwork you can either find me in there or message me directly. On top of that if you just want to chat about your ideas then jump in, I've really got plenty of time at the moment and can help out more often than not.

The WorkshopThe Workshop can definitely be used to drop your entries in as a Work in Progress (especially anyone who's working on a larger project). I check in daily and would be happy to help you work out anything you need help with over there (and if you really need to, I am the Host there so I can edit your WiP's if you can't access a PC)

The Art Group Request Thread could be useful for anyone needing a little bit of art to go along with your Pitch, things like Banners should be relatively easy and I have no doubt a few members would be able to do even cooler things if they've got the time.

    Rules:

    1. All Mod Pitches must be posted in the Modder's Conclave before the 1st of May

    2. Must be titled Event Pitch: [Content Name Here] and be given the Event: Create-a-Mod tag.

    3. You can give it an additional little title convention for the game your mod's for., adding it in brackets, so it would read Event Pitch: [Content Name Here] (Game Name Here) but it isn't mandatory.

    Participants

I'll be throwing down links to everyone's content here when it's in either the Workshop or fully posted.

I've got one for the Vigilants of Stendarr. I was dissapointed to see them wasted in Skyrim.

Hmm, now that'd be awesome. They were definitely the most dissapointing 'faction' in Skyrim and they really, really could have been interesting if done right, definitely interested in what your ideas are in relation to them.

If anyone wants to talk about the Event, I'll be in the Chat for about an hour or so. I'd like to be able to set up a couple hour-two hour periods each day, but I'm not sure how well time zones will work out right off the top of my head (I'm basically here all day, every day...Or I have the potential to be), but I can basically set them up for any point.

Well, I am most certainly glad to see what people have come up with so far. D3LTAFOX's Rise of the Vigilants is the only Pitch posted but I've had some conversations with a few people now and I'm definitely interested in what they've thought about so far. I'll be in that Chat for a few hours if anyone wants to join in and talk about the Event, their pitches or just talk about ideas even if they can't find time to participate. Regardless I'd love to chat with a few people, I've been rather lonely in there so far.

On another quick note, I wanted to cover the fact that I've already posted two Pitches and a WiP. I worked on two of those pitches before the Event started to make sure that all my rules would work out and that the event itself wouldn't be boring. Originally there was a word limit but after testing it with the two Pitches, I decided to scrap it. Don't think that just because I've posted two it means your going slow or anything like that, they've just been ready for a couple weeks now and just needed a little bit of work.

Anyway, I hope to see some more pitches in the coming days, but more also some conversation about them, it'd be great to be able to talk with people about their ideas (Or my ideas :P).

Okay, tentatively count me it. Tentatively. I need to whip out something for lore group this week and I'll see what I can do for this event. But, yes, as per our conversation, Deebs, player fooking housing. As if we didn't need more player, fooking housing. :P

Bah, there's no such thing as too much player housing Liss :P I mean, well I could always go with more cottages and small houses personally, but people seem to like houses so large they get lost in them (not sure why, but hey to each their own). I'm definitely looking forward to stuff from you Liss, so good luck here :D
