So...I told myself I would play a different game but I got brought back by the idea of testing out a mage in YASH and couldn't get rid of the idea. I wanted to create another character to run when I get a bit bored of Sneaky/Berserker Characters (Guurg in other words) and figured that nothing could be more interesting than a Mage.

What makes this Modder's Log interesting is that it has the potential to cover three different games. Deranni's story loosely fits in within the stories of Skyrim, Oblivion but starts off in Morrowind while Almalexia is still alive. At the moment I've finished the first part of the Skyrim log (which is the Mage's Guild but it should have at least one or two more parts) and started the Oblivion Modder's Log.

    Derrani Relvir

    The Build

Derrani Relvir, the famed Dunmeri Sorceress of the 3rd Era is a figure that is shrouded in more mystery than even the most obscure of Dunmeri heroes. Most of what is known about her in more modern times is based off of the words of the Mother of Morrowind, Almalexia the False God who claimed, and I quote

"Those who dare steal from the Tribunal must fear our wrath, and Derrani Relvir has commited a crime so horrible that her death shall be slow, painful and be a lesson for those fools who even think of disobeying our order. Many see her as a symbol of a Dunmer's potential, as a mage who should be looked up to over the more...questionable Telvanni to the North. However, this is not the case, this wicked woman shall hereforth be barred from the homes of all Dunmer who worship the True Gods of Morrowind, and shall be forced out of any town that harbours our faithful."

    Race - Dunmer

Class - Shieldmage (Skyrim), Sorceress (Oblivion and Morrowind)

Skyrim Skills - Destruction, Alteration, Restoration, Illusion, Block, Speech, Lockpicking and Enchanting

    Stats - 3 Magicka, 1 Health and 1 Stamina

Oblivion Skills - Destruction, Alteration, Restoration, Illusion, Mercantile, Speechcraft and Mysticism

Attributes - Willpower, Intelligence and Personality

    Standing Stone - Mage

Factions - Tribunal Temple, Morrowind Mage's Guild, Oblivion Mage's Guild, College of Winterhold

Modder's Log - Derrani Relvir, Part 1 (Complete)

    - The first Modder's Log begins shortly after Derrani arrives in Skyrim after fleeing north from Cyrodiil. It covers the College of Winterhold questline and introduces the reader to some of the starting backstory to the character, primarily why she isn't able to visit Morrowind at all anymore.

Modder's Log - Derrani Relvir, Part 2 (Oblivion Mod List)

    Latest Entry - 4

The second Modder's Log takes us back to the end of the 3rd Era where we see Derrani's early days in Cyrodiil. It covers the Main Quest and the Mage's Guild (May only cover one of the two) and is designed to provide a view at a much younger Derrani, and a little more context to why the Skyrim portion goes the way it goes.

    Screenshots (and Banners)

    - This album contains and screenshots, banners or images used in the Modder's Log, and contains them all within a single place for eaas of access. Some of the Skyrim ones aren't half bad so you might like to check them out.

    Primary Skyrim Mods

Many More Spells interested me as an addition to my arsenal of spells, mostly because I wanted to look at the Hypnotic Charisma (which has the same effect as the Mind Control Spider, but with poison damage and as a spell), Elemental Wrath (Shock, Fire and Frost damage in a single spell) and Ethereal Shield (Which heals you and then roots you to the spot for 5 seconds in Ethereal Form) which combine to create most of what this character is about. Illusions, Powerful Offensive Spells and Tanking.

I'm not sure if it'll clash much with YASH (in terms of damage/effects) but it's definitely one of the milder spell mods available on PS4

YASH2lite This is just my current go-to mod and is likely to be in any Modder's Logs I start up from now on. For Derrani it really makes tanking a ridiculously hard task (Low Health and practically no Stamina) which makes the magical side of things all the more important. What I do like is that Dark Elves are serious badasses with Destruction Spells, gaining 25% Cost Reduction and a 25% boost to damage/duration which is really awesome. On top of this, they can also take more perks in the Mastery Perks (Novice-Master) which further reduce costs and boost damage.

Standing Stone Tweaks is a mod I'm currently debating (I am running it but might drop it). In Vanilla it would be totally balanced and work fairly well as an interesting change to what some of the Standing Stones do but it might overpower a few things in YASH. For example I've got the Mage Stone which reduces Spell Costs by 10% and increases Magicka Regen by 50%. That's definitely a bit fairer than EXP boosts, but at the moment it means I can cast spells for around 50% less from Level 2 (I don't know how exactly the racial bonus, perk and standing stone boost all fit together mathematically.)

Alright, it took me a strangely long time to get this up. I'll be posting the first Entry tommorow and I have to say I might kind of play this a bit faster than The Wrath of Hircine. I've started a more interesting character that has a better base (and doesn't need to be worked on from two directions at the same time) and honestly a Mage with those three mods is just more fun than a Warrior.

Updated the original post with some more information. Mostly just some of the basics, Race, Class, Skills, etc and all that fancy stuff, and I should have the first Entry up tonight.

Cool that you've got another one up. 25% reduction costs and 25% damage boosts? Sheeeeeets, wonder what the Altmer get? Probably jipped like in Requiem because everybody in the world is a bunch of Old Mary haters.

Atlmer are treated pretty well with YASH, they get the same as Dunmer except with Illusion. I think it means that early game they can actually cast Illusion Spells (which at Level One is a huge boon) and later on the duration would be massively different to what other Races get (when you throw in the unqique second ranks they get in Novice-Master Illusion). Man, I was just reading the full change log for what Altmer get and their starting stats (M/H/S) are all better than a Dunmer's.

I'd probably prefer a kind of...mix between Requiem and YASH, keep the Magicka Weakness (maybe drop it to 25%) but give them some serious Illusion Firepower like YASH. Bah, I should stop reading before I get tempted to restart and create an Altmer Mage instead :D

Here's a comparison of Dunmer and Altmer to show how good Altmer really get it.

    Dark Elf

    Stamina Regeneration: 2.5
    Unarmed Damage: 5.5

Carry Weight increase at level up: 2
Race Ability: Destruction spells cost one fourth less and their magnitude and duration is increased by one fourth.

    Starting Stamina: 35
    Starting Carry Weight: 70

Boom, got the First Entry (yesterday's) out and completed. I'll be playing a couple hours tonight so I'll have another update soon, just gotta check for new mods and delete Phenderix Magic Evolved, it doesn't really work well with YASH but I do want to get a few more extra spells...Honestly it's just the Destruction and Conjuration spells from P:ME that I want to skip over, the others are awesome and work fairly well here.

Anyway, if anyone's on PS4 and has some Mods that add spells (that aren't overpowered) then let me know and I'll take a look. But man, I swear I might have to see about finding an old Xbox One online and buy it just to play Skyrim on, that's how tempted I am by Ordinator and Apocalypse (but I know the minute I do that, Sony will announce all mods for PS4 :P)

Pretty hard to play an Altmer warrior though. Do they get the Requiem weakness to magic? That was a tough pill to swallow 40% weakness to magic.  :D Requiem like YASH really makes going against type, which is something I really like doing, hard.

Yeah definitely harder to play against type, especially if you want to play a Mage because all races that aren't meant to be Mages (which is pretty much Breton, Imperial, Argonian, Dunmer and Altmer) woul struggle to cast spells without a shit tonne of equipment. I mean a Nord starts with 5 Magicka which means they wouldn't even be able to cast Sparks/Flames/Frostbite for 1 second (in fact, even with the Novice Perk they wouldn't be able to). At least with the Mage-Based ones they'd be able to somewhat function by level 5 or so (dump 50 points in Health and your good).

Luckily Altmer don't get that huge restriction of any Weakness to Magic in YASH, so they don't seem like they'd be quite as weak as Requiem-Altmer.

Bah, I told myself I wouldn't add any Roleplaying In-Character parts to the entry but I couldn't resist. I just like Derrani as a character. Anyway, just uploaded the Second Entry (which is a really decent rate) and I'll be hitting the hay for tonight before starting up, hopefully a bit earlier tommorow to get more done (I've come down with a shitty ass cold which kept me down for most of the day) than I managed to today.

Well that's a much better rate for uploading than I was expecting of myself. I've finished Entry Three and just need to find another picture before I can start working on Entry Four (well I do need to play Entry Four). I have to say the process is a lot better with 'smaller' entries and shorter periods of play, not to mention the fact that I'm 100% up to date with where my character currently is (rather than trying to remember what I did a week ago).
