Tenebrous Mod Thread

  • February 12

Hallo! This will be the page for downloading any mods I make for Skyrim. Currently, my only project is porting the ESO armors, though that is subject to change. Enjoy!

  • February 12

After many trials, I'm happy to announce that Beta Version 0.1 of my first mod is ready! The "Heritance Plate" armor set is a port of ESO's Altmer Heavy Armor, and is named after the infamous Veiled Heritance.

What's in the mod so far:

-A working (mostly, see errors) heavy cuirass for males. It has the same stats as the Ebony cuirass, making it powerful but not OP. Fully textured, with both weight meshes!

    Known Errors:

-Wearing the cuirass without gauntlets leaves a noticeable gap between the arm and wrist. This will be corrected in future updates.

    Future stuff:

-Adding the Heritance helmet, gauntlets, and boots

-Female version of the armor (Currently, females use the Ebony armor meshes)

-*Possibly* weapons and shield. No promises, though.

-I'm still tweaking the weight meshes, so the "muscular" version may not be final.

-Textures also may not be final.

    -Cheese (Not really)

    How to obtain in-game:

It should be in the same leveled lists as the actual Ebony armor, meaning it'll spawn randomly at later levels. That said, you can also get it via the console (though it is kinda cheating...): type "help heritance" without the quotation marks, find the ID for the Heritance Cuirass, and type "player.additem XXX 1", again without quotation marks and replacing the XXX with the armor ID.

    How to install:

Unzip the archive into your Skyrim Data folder, and bam. You're done. There should be zero mod conflicts, seeing as how it's a new armor set (not a replacer) and shouldn't interfere with anything.

A great armor mod, Tenebrous, even while in beta stages. I was actually surprised at how it looked. Textures seem to blend well, but that maybe due to the ENB I'm using. Here's a few screenshots I took with my Altmer character.

This is an awesome mod and I'm really glad you've taken this on! I just got a PC and so I'm beginning the process of transitioning from console to PC. I'll be watching this thread regularly to see what else you've got in store. :D

This is one helluva cool thing, Tenebrous. Great work. I wish this was on Xbone, I would be wearing it with pride. For one of our members to do such great work and be so generous as to share it is wonderful. You are a credit to the site and with skills like you possess I cannot wait to see what else you do :)

Say, any plans to make a Veiled Heritance build? The return of High Kinlady Estre sent by Bal to redeem herself for past failures would be something to see. With the Aldmeri Dominion now the complete opposite of Her Awesomeness Queen Ayrenn's original concept, the nationalistic Heritance might see a return to power or reformation. In any event, this mod would make the perfect centrepiece of such a project.

Aw, thanks Phil! I appreciate the kind words. As for making a build, well, maybe one day. When I know something about that. :P

Damn, I think I last popped in just before you uploaded the mod and when you posted the discussion. I've been on a bit of an ESO kick recently so I'm stoked to see someone converting the armours to Skyrim, and am definitely going to have to give it a try (Actually, I just wanted to check if this was for Oldrim or Special Edition). They really do look awesome Tenebrous, and I can't wait to see some of the other sets that you work on.

Oh and I've decided to give this a week-long feature everytime that you update the mod or release a new one, so let me know anytime I don't pop in immedietly. It's just kind of awesome to have some creating and sharing a mod with the community so I'd like to encourage it as much as possible :)

First of all, wow. A feature? Never had that honor before!

Anyhoo. My mods will be for "Oldrim" as you call it, partially due to me not trusting Steam Workshop with ports but also me not being able to fully run SE. Also, I'd recommend featuring it (squee!) when an armor set is complete, but that's just me. Also wanted to take the chance to thank you guys- all of you- for the support you've given even in this beta stage. It's inspiring, y'know? :)

Credit where credit's due - you're doing incredible stuff! It's nice to support you, and with DB backing it, he can keep the admins up to speed should we miss any of your work. You're the inspiration here, Tenebrous :)

Version 0.2 of the Heritance Plate set is up! This version adds the helmet, which IMO is the coolest part of the armor.
