         Dalengra’s mortal skin numbed in the harsh winds of Skyrim. Eighty-seven years passed; he grew fonder of the culture, and less tolerant of the people. He would not have returned were it not for a whisper. “Redwater Skooma,” was the phrase. Did the strange man in the dark Imperial alley spread such secrets through ignorance or trickery? To Dalengra, it did not matter. The trail to the myth needed to be guarded. He visited a discreet mage and had his blessing removed.

         As a human once more, Dalengra reentered politics. Before long, Whiterun, The Rift, and Falkreath flew his banner alongside their own. Thanehood was his sentinel, guarding his life from the many dangers of mortal affairs. He aged many years in his political dealings, and his hunger grew tenfold. In fear of losing his opportunity, Dalengra dismissed himself and sought out his legacy.

         The next time he tasted blood, it was of Redwater Spring.

         He was welcomed into Harkon’s family with open arms and granted free use of the Bloodstone Chalice. Harkon knew not of the mistake he made. The prophecy of the Bloodcurse unraveled itself through the actions of Dalengra and Serana, and the sun was no more. It was not until Harkon laid dead that Serana knew she made the same mistake as her father -- trust.

         The genocide was immediate and thorough. Imperials and Stormcloaks joined forces to fight back the relentless waves of vampires sacking city after city under a cursed blood moon; vampires turned on each other, clawing up the pile of bodies, reaching for the power that Dalengra guarded.

         Sitting on his lonely throne in Castle Volkihar, Serana’s body cast over Harkon’s, Dalengra had much to reflect on and an eternity to do it.

         The humans were dead. The blood had run dry. The vampires had won, but Tamriel had lost. Under the tyranny of the night, Nirn was cast into eternal darkness and the gods were muted by the void.

    Oh, I really do like this character. Just the idea of actually being a really evil Vampire (well, near-evil) and completing that storyline is really original and interesting. Kind of makes me want to read a story based on the idea of what the world after the Prophecy would be like. Anyway, you perfectly managed to tell the character's story in 400 words Legion, really fun to read :D

    EDIT: Also I was evil and gave it a tag for the Flash Event...should've thought of that earlier.

    I posted a longer reply yesterday on the WiP but... Oh well, I'll take it as an excuse to worship this profile again, but this time I'll be a little more concise because I'm a bit short on time.

    Backstory. Insane. It's an original concept, it's darker than Frankie Boyle's jokes and inspires a feeling of dread that most stories just can't muster. But as much as you hate the guy for generally being a dick, you can tell that he's not really evil. Power hungry? Yup. Ruthless? You gotcha. Evil? I don't think so. Did you see my comment regarding his morality on the WiP? I'd love to hear you verdict if you can remember it (if not I'll ask it again, just give me a bit to remember the exact question). You're writing style as well is just awesome, it increases the intensity of the story and brings tit to life, well as close to life as a vamprie can get anyway.

    The other content gets the job done, can't ask for more with such a restriction. But thanks to the story I don't think any great depth is needed anyway, I already feel like I know the character.

    So TL;DR, this is heckin' amazing.

    @Zonnonn

    I actually replied at length but had DB delete the post without thinking that you may not have read it.

    You were pretty spot on with your ideas; Dalengra is chaotic neutral and evil. Which direction he swings depends entirely on the context. Anything involving the Spring or Chalice and he's going to be a lot more evil. Regarding everything else, he's level-headed and pragmatic, and falls more to the chaotic neutral side. This is especially true in his political dealings. In his mind, all politics are irrevocably corrupt, and so he has no qualms about playing the game strictly to his advantage, as well as to the advantage of the Stormcloaks. I was thinking I actually kind of wanted to expand on the profile a bit, but I'm not sure. If I do, I'll put it in the workshop as a "revamp" so that I don't have a WIP in RP.

    Pragmatic, that was the word I was looking for. He's basically a politician who's ok blood and murder then, to massively oversimplify it? I'd definitely be interested in seeing more if you want to do a 2.0 or something, looking forward to it mate!
