    ESO Random RP Character Creation

    Ian S. McClure

Hallo! So, recently I've been struggling to make a character in ESO that I actually care about. It just seems I can't get in their heads like the old days. So, I decided to write out a profile for a char. But, I couldn't decide what to do with him/her! That led to this post—the ESO Random RP Character Creation system!

How it works is simple. Find a number generator (I use random.org), and for every field, generate a number within those parameters (I.E determining Gender, you'd generate between 1 and 2). Whatever number you get is an aspect of your character. Note that this a very personal system—feel free to modify it for your own needs if you feel like. Also, though this was made primarily for ESO, it can be adapted pretty easily for any ES game.

Anyhoo, feel free to leave input, and thanks for reading!

Excellent idea, Tenebrous! Most of my characters have a backstory, much of which was developed as I tackled various content. IMO, you really have to get into the game (beyond the surface level quests) to truly RP your character.

A major inspiration, for the record, was this thread:

Here's a link for those who want a name for their character! There's names for every playable race and then some.

Major update, adding a ton of options for the God or Daedra your character follows, and a few more former job options!

    Pretty cool idea!

Bloody hell, this is thorough. Looking good mate, I might even use bits of this for my Skyrim characters.

Minor update, changing the Gods section to being optional (unless your char is religiously-motivated/comes from a religious backround). Extensive testing has shown me that usually the God choices don't mesh with the rest of the profile, and make it more difficult to make convincing backstories. That said, if you get a God that fits your character, or even if you don't, by all means incorporate into the backstory!
