You know, it might be a bit too hard to pull it off, to make it the center part of a build, but it works well as a special move.

I'm catching up on some of the newer T&T posts and I'm a big fan of stuff like this, definitely right up my alley. I mastered the Whirlwind Sprint -> Shield Charge trick to great effect, jumping huge gaps to send archers sailing. Anywho, I've always wanted to find some spellsword tech and this is a great launching pad. I was hoping to implement the weapon in the offhand but it seems to lose too many capabilities. Still think there are some glitchy tech to discover there but just haven't traveled far enough down that rabbit hole yet. Great post mate :)

Thanks a lot! Hmm.. there might be a way to make left handed spellswords as good as the original.
I'm not entirely sure but I think casting spells with the right hand is faster than with the left hand.

The tech appears to run off Critical Charge, which doesn't trigger at all for weapons in the left hand, so sadly this is a no-go.

As to spellcasting with the right hand, there's a secondary element, which is player input. You click and hold to charge the spell, but it doesn't release automatically - you release the mouse button (or whatever console players use, probably R2) and the spell fires. Even if spellcasting is faster in the right hand, I don't think it makes a big difference because the spell only fires as fast as you charge and release it, and that extra release is essential.
