A dark cannibalistic assassin that poisons and eliminates their foes without being seen.

    I introduce to you..

    The Viper

This is my first build, i'm not that good at backstory.. go easy? :D

He was born in a middle class family in an average city in Valenwood.. Elden Root.. He lived without worry until he was about 10 years old, but at that point life began to change... Thenal grew up with 4 sisters, and his parents.. his parents sent him to go take care of the animals, it took a little longer than usual.. as Thenal came back, he notices something rather peculiar.. the lights where off, the lights where never off, the door was locked. Thenal kicked open the door to see his sister Petra, dead.. in the kitchen. Thenal ran upstairs to check on his parents, they where dead.. together, in bed. A note was left behind.. "We Know".. those damned Dark Brotherhood members, I will do all I can to elimnate them from this world.

A few days earlier Thenal had stabbed another boy that attacked him in the gut, he later died.. this is why the Dark Brotherhood must've came after his family.

After fleeing Valenwood, he ran. Stayed at inns, found side jobs.. stole any gold he could, to get far away.. to Skyrim, he was captured at the border entering illegally, and brought off to execution at Helgen, your journey as dragonborn begins..

You will see this is what I chose to try to base the character on.

    Name : Thenal Melat (Tha-nail Mill-at)

Race ; Bosmer - No, this build utilizes almost no archery, this is for the boost to sneak and alchemy. I personally chose Bosmer myself. I do base this build off a Bosmer so..

Khajiit - Boost to Sneak, Pickpocket, Alchemy, One-handed, Lockpicking.  I like humanoid-ish races.. however, I would recommend this.

Stone : Lover or Theif at first, then Lord or Serpent. I personally chose Theif and Serpent.. it depends on your skill at the game.

Stats : || 1 || 1 -  I did this up until around 200 stamina.. then devoted the rest into health.

Major Skills : One Handed - Sneak - Alchemy - Pickpocket

Minor Skills : Light Armor - Block - Lockpicking - Illusion

    Weapons  :   You can use a sword or a dagger, here are my choices for them ;

Blade of Woe - A worthy weapons for an assassin like yourself.

Red Eagle's Fury - Another worthy weapon with a good damage output.

Blades Sword - Enchanted with shock damage.

Bolar's Oathblade - Alternative to the Blade's Sword since enchanting is not utilized in this build.

    Shouts :

    Elemental Fury - Self Explanatory.

Whirlwind Sprint - GET OUTTA THERE!

    Slow Time - Always useful.

Storm Call - Ever been in a bandit camp that was too hard for you? This might help. Downside - Outdoors Only

Throw Voice - Ever played a video game where you throw a rock as a distraction then assassinate.. well, there you go.

    Essential Quests:

Main Quest - Why not? Follow your destiny.

Dawnguard DLC - Volkihar side.. just because you are a cannibal, you will not use Vampire Lord though.

The Taste of Death - You are a cannibal

Destroy the Dark Brotherhood - Killing my family.. I think not.

The White Phial - Choose either Healing, One-Handed, or Shadows.

Civil War (Completley Optional.. I chose to not do it.) - I chose Stormcloaks because the Imperials hate assassins.. not good for you.

Thieves Guild (Optional) - Offers good training in thief line and Amulet of Articulation.

    Armor ;

Hood - Apprentice Hood or Redguard Hood for Khajiit maybe.  The Redguard Hood can be obtained by killing Nazir.

Chest - Dawnguard Light Armor (Red Sleeveless) - PC players can spawn this in or get it by killing a dawnguard member.

Boots - Shrouded Boots. - Joining or Destroying the dark brotherhood, you can find one by killing Astrid.

Arms - Shrouded Gloves - Joining or Destroying the dark brotherhood, you can find one by killing Astrid.

Ring - Ring of Namira - For Cannibalism.

Amulet - Amulet of Articulation - This can only be obtained by doing the Thieves Guild questline.

    IF YOU DONT HAVE DAWNGUARD..

I recommend the Guild Master Armor, or Shrouded Armor with the Amulet of Articulation.. you should really get dawnguard though..

Appearance wise I went for Bosmer preset 2 with full weight. As for the khajiit, customize as you wish.

    PERKS AND ATTRIBUTES (lvl 55)

     Skyrim Calculator

    Major Skills

If you use a dagger only invest one point into Bladesman in the One-Handed tree

    Minor Skills

If you have perks left invest in Master and Expert Lockpicking..

Quiet Casting is a must if you plan on using Throw Voice.

     Gameplay

Use the "guards see dead bodies" approach, as in.. take out the farthest enemy first in a sniper game so they don't see the body.. use this tactic in bandit camps, lure people in seclusion.. then attack and feast. You could use this to your advantage.. put a dead body somewhere, lure a bandit over.. and strike. Works sort of like a untrustworthy throw voice.

You’ll be relying on sneak attack, poison and your own ability to perform assassinations without being seen, you do this by applying poison to your dagger or sword for a better damage output and you can sneak away.. or drop poison into someones pocket and watch them start to drop dead. MAKE SURE.. that the poison is strong enough.

When things go wrong, and trust me they will.. you have two options, get to a spot and hide until you have another chance or use whirlwind sprint and get as far away from the opponent as possible.

As far as potions and brewing go, make invisibility potions, poisons, restore health, or regenerate health, and paralysis potions. Make them strong enough to take down a tough enemy, always go overkill with the potions.

Do NOT forget to feed. You can drink blood and eat flesh.. morbid.. but tasty.. MMMM!

    Roleplay

                                                                                                The Rules of The Viper..

    1. No animal followers, no followers period. You operate alone in the shadows and don't need someone getting in your way.
    2. Remember to feed yourself on your enemies.
    3. No ranged weapons, up close and personal.
    4. Don't. Get. Caught.
    5. Optional - Drag bodies to where they cannot be found.

                                                                                                                Credits

That’s about it. Hope you enjoy it! Remember, this was my first build.. so please go easy in the comments.. give recommendations please! :D

Hey a first build! Congrats :)

It's always a little scary to put it out in the world eh? But seriously I think the concept is cool. I once upon a time started a "poisoner" build with similar ambitions, though mine was an archer alchemist. Very interesting how you've gone the cannabilistic and dark route here. I quite like your outfit choices too, very unique.

For critique, I would tighten up the presentaiton if possbile, working to reduce the spaces that break up the presentation, and if at all possible add some more art / screenshots. I now not everyone has that option, but the Art Group request can be helpful. For example, making a perk spread instead of just the list really can add appeal to the presentation.

The other main thing you're missing is some more detail on how this character handles combat and specific situations. For example, you've perked sneak and pickpocket and the posion alchemic skills, but haven't mentioned dropping poison in peoples pockets. Does the character do this? Or are we simply posioning our dagger and sneak attacking? Stuff like that...

Anyway, kudos again on the first build!

    Thanks for the feedback. :D

I am a graphic designer (sorta) but I just was getting really tired and didn't want to make a perk spread.. I wanted to make this as full as possible and it actually took 3 and a half hours just trying to get the different armors and skills all in check, then working out quests and playstyle. I was lying in bed last night and forgot followers then wake up to this and need to add it, really appreciate it.. thanks a lot! :D Update - I did everything suggested. Thanks! :D

Nice first build Reslign.  The only thing I think your missing is a alchemy section. Your a poisoner but you don't mention what poisons you used.

It's strange; dark cannibalistic assassin-vampires represent just about everything I hate... yet I really like this build. Gonna have to do some soul-searching now xD

One way or another, you've got a +1 from me. Well done! ;D

Thanks a lot! xD. Do you have any tips for creating an Archer build without being generic? A lot of them seem the same, ranger, imperial ranger, or a rouge.. You seem like you are involved a lot so.. :D.

I think the key to breaking out of the traditional TES Archer classes is to create individuals first rather than approach the build specifically to make an archer. It sounds like a trivial distinction, but I've found it helpful. Individuals are quirky and may use a bow differently or for different reasons. If you create a character first, figure out what he or she wants out of life, then incorporate archery to fit the character, you tend to get quirky archers.

PM me if you'd like to discuss it further OR you can ask the question on the Character Building Help Desk thread and probably get several insightful responses from a wide range of builders ;D

A nice first forray into the world of building. :) I love the armor combo you have going on here. I think you did a good job with the whole aesthetic here, and I think you did a great job of making the strike-from-the-shadows aspect deep and intuitive. It's something I always try to synthesize when I'm working on a character. Nicely done. +1
