One of my two builds for the Against Type Event. I opted for a Nord blood mage. Being a nature build, it'll be perfect for wandering around Skyrim's landscape and checking out all of Special Edition's shiny new features. For more personal onformation on the character, check out the character profile, The Wildman.

A wildman living in the wilderness of Skyrim. He makes use of both blood magic and the world around him. He is savage and brutal, doesn't know how to act around people, is not very bright, and...well he's a cannibal. He worships both Hircine and Kyne and his magical abilities are gifts granted by them. Firstly a hunter and secondly a blood mage, he uses sneak archery backed by Conjuration that is fueled by Equilibrium. He uses low level spells, such as Conjure Familiar and basic Illsuion spells, but can keep casting them as long as he can keep giving blood. With his abilitiy to communicate with animals on a base level he can call them to help him in a tough situation. This build is great for casual play as there are not many quests for it and you don't have to take it all the way through a full journey. You can play into it as far as you like or just a little bit.

"I have studied this particularly interesting wildman I encountered during my research. He is reminiscent of the Forsworn; savage, unsophisticated, and lives in the wilderness. Yet, he is different in many ways. His intelligence seems far more base than any Forsworn, he is far more animalistic and, if I may say, more vile, and he travels alone, seeming to have no affililiation with the group. Not to mention the fact he roams around naked save for a headdress quite similar to those of the Forsworn. I have no ideas on what the significane of the headdress may be.

It seems he worships Hircine, Daedric Lord of the Hunt and Kyne of the Nordic Pantheon, making frequent sacrifices to them for power. I have actaully seen him consorting with this Daedra in the woods. He appears also to be cannibalistic and has a certain knowledge of blood magicks, though I do not know if these powers come from cannibalization or his worship. He seems to be able to eat raw meat without becoming sick as a normal man would. He survives by hunting, and eating wild vegetation. He is easily startled by people in the wilderness and on the roads, most likely seeing them as a threat. I have exercised extreme caution and kept my distance throughout my observations due to his propensity to attack these people he comes across. I have no wish to be cannibalized.

I've asked all about in the holds for any information from those who have any to offer. Many people had seen him, some had even been attacked by him, but only two people claimed to have any knowledge about his past and where he came from. One was an elderly Nord woman in Markarth, the other a middle-aged Dunmer man in Falkreath. The woman claimed she knew the man's parents, who are long deceased. She said they hailed from Markarth. After several children they had had fallen ill and died in their first months, they had a boy who was hearty and lived for six months with them until they got in a bad way with the Forsworn due to circimstances she would not reveal. They were forced to give up the boy to pay their debt. She said she did not know the man's name. The Dunmer's information shall not be written in this book as he wished not to be named nor for his words to be recorded. Though, it is sufficient to say I do not believe his information was much at all.

I can only assume, due to his current lack of affiliation with the Forsworn, that he either managed to escape from them, or they no longer had any purpose for him and threw him out, where he raised himself in the wilds. Or perhaps his separation is much more recent. I believe that his time spent with the Forsworn, if it was sufficiently long enough, is what caused him to become as violent as he is. It is also highly possible that these blood magicks of his were taught to him by the Forswron. Of course, these claims are unsubstantiated and my assumptions are not to be taken as truth. Only my current observations can be seen as entirely accurate."

Thanks to Relycs for editing this image.

Archery: The only combat skill of this build. A wildman has to have a way to catch his lunch or to take down enemies from afar. Paired with Sneaking, it's your first line of defense. You're naked, so you can't take too many hits, and this perfectly allows you to eleminate melee foes before they can harm you. Steady Hand helps in close range and Hunter's Discipline is helpful due to your stock of arrows being rather limited. Of course, there's also the fact that any Hircine worshipper wouldn't be caught dead without his or her bow.

Conjuration: Your second line of defense. This allows you to call on 'backup' sent to you by Hircine from his plane of Oblivion. Your spectral wolf friends are weak, but can be the perfect distraction for your enemies while you make your escape, or load them up with arrows. But, let's not foget that you can blow them up with the fiery ones too. When you run out of arrows, Hircine can gift you with a bow and a quiver of arrows.

Alteration: The tertiary skill of choice for the Blood Stag. Having no offensive or defensive capabilities, it still changes combat completely. Making blood sacrifices to Hricine and Kyne allow you to keep calling upon their power. As long as you can keep giving, you can keep fighting your enemies with help from these deities. Additionally, you can hold your breath underwater for a long time and the naked sight of you can paralyze enemies with fear.

Illusion: Communicating with animals. Scaring away foes with your naked rushes into battle. Both obviously important for a wildman. Use Calm, Fear and Courage as base cimmunication with wildlife.

Sneak: Important for staying hidden from your prey as well as your enemies. Powers up your archery, allowing for extra damage from the shadows. What wildman doesn't know how to be stealthy when hunting?

Alchemy: Not perked and hardly of any actual use. More of an immersion aspect than a real skill. You are in tune with the environment and know all the wild flora as well as what they can do if ingested.

    Combat

Combat as the Blood Stag is rather simple, but has a few different layers to it. I genreally  employed the same tactics for every type of enemy. First things first: never carry more than  30-35 arrows(which runs out far more quickly than you migt think). This forces you to make  every shot count and keeps the build simplistic along with only using crude arrows: Iron,  Forsworn, Falmer, and Ancient Nord. This inspired a tactic I liked to employ when out of arrows and up  against an enemy archer. I would let them shoot at me and dodge, then pick up their arrows  off the ground and shoot them right back into them. It also caused me to have to scavenge around forts, because bandits often had plenty of iron arrows I could replenish my stock with. If you choose to poison your opponent,  use only Frostbite Venom, as you have no alchemical ability to make any poisons.

You should try to remain undetected to take out enemies quietly with your bow. Detect Life  lets you track your enemies while you hunt them down with your superior instincts. In close  combat, you can use a combination of bow bashes and quick arrow shots coupled with Steady  Hand, or Unrelenting Force/Whirlwind Sprinting away to create room for fully drawn shots.  When in a pinch and out of arrows, Hircine can grant you a spectral bow and 100  arrows(Bound Bow). This should only be used in emergencies, against very powerful enemies like draongs. If you're out of arrows, but not up against anything particularly powerful, just try to let your Familiars do the fighting and wait to loot some arrows. The Shadow Stone or using Waterbreathing and then sneaking up  through the water are good ways to get the jump on an enemy.

When archery doesn't work out, next comes summons. The Familars that Hricine grants you  the ability to call upon can distract enemies while you fill them with arrows or make your  escape and can actually be of some use against weaker foes. Flaming familiars can be used  for more powerful foes to blow them up. You can even use Paralyze and let them rip unto the hapless foe. Your summons are weak and will die easily so you'll  be summoning them repeatedly. When your magicka is running low, Equilibrium can refill it  from your large health pool by giving your blood to Hricine and Kyne for more power. I wanted  the health drain to be a main weakness of the build, so you're not going to be counteracting it  in any way. You'll just have to be careful. And don't be afraid to cannibalize on all of your prey after you're done.

Alchemy comes in in a very simplified manner. You know nothing about brewing potions,  but know what all the plants around you will do to your body. Therefore you can use all those wild berries and grasses to regain a slight bit of health or magicka in battle by eating them raw. You can ues it to cure your diseases with the appropriate ingredient, but otherwise you'll just have to deal with whatever diseases you catch. Don't cure them with a blessing. Just eat whatver you find and learn what it does, then keep using whatever is helpful, simple as that. A few of the things I ate most often when I had them handy were: Blue, Red, and Purple Mountain Flowers, Orange Butterfly Wings, Large Antlers, Mora Tapinella. You can use potions if you have to, but try to stick to plant life if you can.

If needed, you can use Animal Allegiance to call animals to come fight for you. Courage can make this more potent. It feels pretty awesome to have two familiars and an animal helping me fight an enemy all at once. Calm and Fear can be used to talk to animals and let them know that you are not a threat to them or to alert them to a nearby threat so they know to leave the area. Skyrim's wildlife is beautiful when it's not fleeing from you.

The Blood Stag is an unsophisticated wildman. He doesn't know how to read, so avoid reading books, and he understands very little about regular human and elven interaction or civilization. Though he doesn't understand these things, he is intrigued by them, wandering into cities from time to time, but for the most part avoidong them. When he does venture into one, he often finds himself in trouble. Occasionally steal things right in front of someone as if you have no idea what you're doing then get thrown in jail(it's actually pretty funny). Don't deal with the shopkeepers unless you're buying spells, which is something you'll just have to overlook for rp's sake.

You have no real reason to carry gold once you have all of your necessary spells, so don't worry about looting chest or taking gold. I didn't need any of it. When I did need gold for something like paying my way to Solstheim to get the Glass Bow of the Stag Prince, I just found someone in their home, murdered them, and took their gold. Wash, rinse, repeat until you have enough gold. It seemed to fit that a guy like this would be told he needs gold and then would subsequently barge into a house and take it by force. Though, he can only do this if the door is unlocked. He knows absoutely nothing about how locks work, so you'll never be picking any open.

Hunting is, of course, a major part of the rp. I spent a lot of time in the plains of Whiterun and in the Reach tracking animals, then taking every part of them after killing them. Hoard pelts and antlers and keep a good stock of raw meat to munch on from time to time. Aside from animals I also preyed on random travelers I came across, starlted by them and unsure of their intentions. If I saw someone out in the wilderness, I would hide and ambush them when they came closer. I would then usually eat them or take a few miscellaneous supplies. I would also explore nearly every cave I came across just out of curiosity. Everything I hoarded I took back to the Alchemist's Shack outside Ivarstead, but you can choose any random shack.

Sometimes, rather than hunting animals, I would roam around with them. The Blood Stag grew up in the wilderness and can communicate with animals. You can use Calm and let them know you are not a threat, then just walk around with them. You have a close relationship with all of Skyrim's wilderness.

In short, wander into cities from time to time, occasionally getting into trouble. Don't worry about gold or loot, but if you absolutely need gold, murder and take it by force. Go hunting often and hoard animal loot at a random shack. Ambush people you find on roads or in the woods. Explore a lot caves. Hang out with animals.

    Ill Met By Moonlight(Kill Sinding)

    Kyne's Sacred Trials

    The Taste of Death

    A Scroll for Anska

A Daedra's Best Friend(simply because I feel this poor guy would be so confused by a talking dog that he'd get duped into doing the quest).

A Night To Remember(another one I feel the socially inept guy would get roped into, all the while being extremely confused).

Main Questline, only far enough to get the first word of Whirlwind Sprint from the Greybeards so you can backdoor Labrynthian using Bucketmancy to get Equilibrium.

College of Winterhold Questline if you prefer to not have to backdoor Labrynthian to get Equilibrium. You can just overlook it in the RP if you do this.

These are just a few recommemded quests. The only essential ones are the first four and the Main Questline. The Blood Stag isn't really about quests or any specific path or alignment. It's more about:

The Blood Stag is all about living in Skyrim's wilderness and exploring its amazing landscapes. Take your time going around hunting to collect pelts for your collection. Explore all the caves and dungeons you come across while doing so. I spent a lot of time in the plains of Whiterun. I just love the scenery and it's an excellent hunting ground. Sometimes I'd venture farther out towards Markarth and wander around over in the Reach. Practically any cave I came across I explored and quite a few ruins, though I stuck more to caves. I hoarded a bunch of pelts and raw meat, then came and dumped them all at the Alchemist's Shack outside Ivarstead. I did keep some of the meat to eat later. It was my makeshift home, though it was really more of a storage facility for all of my hunting loot.

I personally feel that this might be my best build yet(though my builds from the old site are gone). I had a lot of fun playing it and the roleplaying as a savage was my favorite part. Thanks to Relycs for editing that image in the "The Build" section and thanks to everyone who gave me feedback on this while I worked on it.

Here are a couple of completely optional mods for some extra immersion.

Nude Males- If you don't mind genitalia and want an even more natural, wild feel, this one's for you.

Sounds of Skyrim-The Wilds- Adds some amazing audio effects for more immersion when journeying through the wilderness.

     Check out my other build(s):

The ultimate nudist is out! I can't imagine the amount of fun you had playing this build, who doesn't love a naked-shaman-forsworn-psycho running running around? Like I said on The Copycat, there's not much more I can say that I haven't already on the WiP, but I'm glad to finally see this out.

Oh yes, so much fun! Nakedness in Skyrim makes everything so much funnier. Even better with the mod to go full nude XD And of course writing builds is always just as entertaining to me as playing them, and this one was a pleasure to write. Thanks, Zonnonn.

Yes! It´s finally out! I´m still absolutely amazed by the title picture. Just that picture alone sells the build to me, but it would be really shame not to look at all the other amazing things in this build. Blood magic, savagery, nude males (ugh :D) plus the use of Familiars.

Lorc approves! This is absolutely kickass build, mate. :)

Thanks, Karver :) I agree, that picture really is just amazing. I'm glad you think it's kickass. It's truly my best build yet.

This is great. I might have to play it, but I think I would wear ragged trousers, because I love how they look

Very pleased with this build, Blooded. I really like the ideas behind it and that the gameplay is uncomplicated, but potentially quite intense. And HA! Henantier picks up dodged arrows too! And Oh! Killing people because you need money, this is great. It is your best build and seeing your builds change over time have been great.

One suggestion. Hawk feathers cure disease instantly upon being injested.

Thanks, Ajani, and I too enjoy the look of the ragged trousers.

Thanks, Lis. Yeah the combat could be quite intense sometimes. Out of arrows, low on health because you had to refill your magicka, and just praying to Hricine that your familiars can take out whatever it is you're fighting. I could never seem to find many hawk feathers, so as it stands, I'm running around around with both Witbane and Bone Break Fever :p Oh well, guess I should go find a nest or something.

Oh my...I really love this. One of my favorite new builds. jeez. Sneak archer bloodmage running awnatural. Very Very Unique and I'm going to play this after my current play through. I was wondering how you handled basically no protection -  you aren't using alteration / mage armor spell - does that mean basiaclly  "don't get hit??"
