So next Monday marks the North American release of the fifth installment in the numbered Persona series. A spin off of Atlus's Shin Megami Tensei series, one of several, the Persona franchise mixes Jungian philosophy, religious symbolism, mythology, and high school life in a wonderful series where your character can summon mythical and historical figures to fight for you with the power of their psyche.

So Chris, how is/was Persona 5? I've been meaning to get into the series before, so would this be a semi-decent time to give it a shot? I don't think I'd ever be able to go back to the start of the series and play through all of the games but if Persona 5 is a good time to get in, I'd be happy to give it a shot.

I would say yes. The games, outside of a few references, and to an extent, the Persona 4 Arena games, don''t have any direct connection with each other. The game is really fun. It has a few minor flaws here or there, but overall, its a 9.25, as Game Informer put it
