For the Stranger Things event I figured I'd take the cliche Halloween vampire that 90% of us were as kids and incorporate that into the Fallout universe. My base idea that would allow the concept of a vampire to fit into Fallout is inspired by the group called The Family that can be found in D.C. during the time of Fallout 3. Taking this group's "way of the vampire" (in which they drink the blood of their victims but don't consume flesh) I was able to develop a mutated vampire-esque character who wanders the Commonwealth in search of prey to feed upon while remaining undiscovered  by those who would seek to destroy him. I present:

    The Night Hunter

    Backstory

"Damn those Arefu fools. We should've killed them when we had the chance. Vance, Holly, Alan, Brianna, Karl, Justin; all dead, The Family is gone. Not much more I can do now but wander south in search of new hunting grounds. That last merchant we hunted had a huge list of deliveries for settlements around Boston. Must be good prey there. Hunting alone will be difficult, but thankfully I snagged Vance's sword in the confusion so I'm not completely unprepared. Also, I've been feeling strange lately, ever since we expanded our feeding to more irradiated subject I've noticed I keep getting this strange feeling of power when the sun falls. As I continue to consume the essence of those I kill, I find myself growing stronger, more like the vampires Vance would preach to us about. I will continue to explore these newfound powers, and I will continue to follow the laws Vance set before us, and I will continue to survive, for I am a rare and misunderstood breed. At least that's what Vance would tell us"

    Synopsis

The Night Hunter is a stealth-vampire build who, after having the rest of his kind exterminated, has come to the Commonwealth in search of humans with blood to satisfy his thirst. The radiation within the blood he consumes has begun to have strange effects on him, mutating him to have the ability to turn invisible at will, see through the night, and have incredible endurance. Taking the classic stealth-melee playstyle coupled with a "hunt or be hunted" mindset, playing the night hunter is a blood-curtling thrill. Still interested? Then let's get down to the stats of this stalker-of-the-night.

     SPECIAL

Strength (3+1): As a melee build strength offers us some extra power behind our attacks, and allows for access to Blacksmithing and even Armor Smithing if you so choose (SPECIAL Book)

Perception (5+1): As the night falls, our creature's senses exceed that of a normal human, giving him an edge to his less perceptive prey (Bobblehead)

Endurance (8): Cannabalism (or blood-drinking for this character) is an essential part of both combat and roleplay. Plus the extra health comes in handy when discovered

Charisma (3): The Night Hunter enjoys his own company and feels better off traveling alone since none of his kind are to be found

Intelligence (1): He's stuck in the old ways of a traditional vampire, and unfortunately this means his intuitive and technological skills are lacking severely

Agility (7): Empowered by the blood of his foes and the cloak of the night, the Night Hunter is equal parts stealthy and speedy. No one can escape his blood lust, and hardly anyone can even find him in the first place

Luck (1): F*** Luck, all skill

    -Disciple's Cutalsss/Throatslicer

    -Shishkebob

    -Bladed .44 Pistol

    *note on equipment*

The gear was primarily chosen for the vampire aesthetic, and I chose the Shishkebob because that's the weapon Vance used in Fo3 so it fits the story (and popping out of invisibility with a flaming sword is effing dope). Also, I opted to keep a pistol on hand just in case a situation arose where a ranged shot is needed, plus the Bladed .44 looks sick on this guy.

Another side note: armor with the Chameleon legendary effect is very fitting as a representation of the stealth powers of this guy. Along with this, weapons with the Nocturnal legendary effect are also gameplay and roleplay friendly

    Gameplay

The Night Hunter is, as expected, a melee assassin who stalks through the night slicing throats, feeding on corpses, and ultimately bringing wideswept terror to the Commonwealth. Besides using regular stealth, the Night Hunter is capable of achieving invisibility through the result of his blood mutation powers(Stealth Boys). However despite being stealthy, the Night Hunter should not be underestimated in his combat prowess once discovered as his high AP count and regeneration, decent armor rating, stackable bleed damage, and his ability to feed in combat to regain health all contribute to his ability in battle. But chances are, you've only discovered the Night Hunter because he wanted you to. Afterall, what fun is a good hunt if your prey doesn't see it coming?

The basis for combat is fairly straightforward; upon approaching prey, decide whether they're weak enough for you to attack head on or if you need to use the cover of night to gain an edge.

If you decide to attack head on, go for the strongest opponent first; your disarm ability (gained from Big Leagues perk) will allow you to disable them. Try to leave melee opponents for last as one of their blocks (which are practically unavoidable) will stun you long enough where you'll lose a good chunk of health with no gain. Don't forget, your vampire blood as allowed you to avoid addiction to chems so use whatever the hell you think you need! Psycho Jet is a great way to simulate extreme vampire speed and dexterity as well as ferocity.

If you decide to take a stealthier approach (to start at least), face the situation with the mindset of a stalking wolf. Be patient and observant; look for anyone that is cut off from the group so that you can pick them off with a quick stab of your knife. Search for sleeping enemies as the Mister Sandman perk makes them easy targets. When facing a more sticky situation, use your Night Cloak power(stealth boy) to allow you to open up combat with a devastating stealth attack

With the Action Boy perks, AP regeration makes retreating and sprinting between targets much easier; use this to your advantage! Stay mobile and don't get stuck between targets or in the line of fire. The Night Hunter is meant to be played as a stealthy assassin that, once discovered, breaks out to fight like a wild animal; sprinting about slicing and stabbing in an unpredictable yet calculated manner.

    Throatslicer indeed...

    Roleplay

Vampires are outcasts of society; they're feared by all and accepted by none. Because of this, the Night Hunter avoids settlements, people, and basically anyone or anything remotely good. He's lonely, but all he really cares about is feeding his constant thirst for blood. He accomplishes this by going on great "hunts". Upon the coming of night, he will search for victims in any form. For these hunts, the Night Hunter follows the laws that Vance created for the Family:

    The First Law

"Feast not on the flesh; consume only the blood. This is our strength."

    The Second Law

"Bear not the child; welcome only the exile. This is our fate."

    The Third Law

"Feed not for pleasure; partake only to nourish. This is our dignity."

    The Fourth Law

"Seek not the sun's light; embrace only the shadows. This is our refuge."

    The Fifth Law

"Kill not our kindred; slay only the enemy. This is our justice."

By following these laws, the roleplay of the Night Hunter's everday life is better defined: only kill with the intention of consuming blood, do not eat bloodless meat such as ghouls, and do not go out into the sunlight. In the case of being unable to hunt, consuming Blood Packs and Irradiated Blood Packs are acceptable and even recommended to keep on hand

Unfortunately, Fallout 4 has very little to offer for truly evil characters in the way of actual quests and factions. However, there are some options:

-Join the Railroad. You don't care about synths, but by slowing the institute you further ensure that all the precious, blood filled denizens of the Commonwealth don't all get replaced as bloodless synths. Along with this, they off a cloak of protection and allies with which to ensure your surival (thankfully their "intel" on you has no indication of your true self). Also Tinker Tom sells stealth boys which are the source of your night cloak abilities.

-Nuka World; this is about the only truly evil questline you can embark on, and it's also the only way to get the endgame gear for the Night Hunter. By becoming Overboss, you are able to enslave wanderers using your raider gangs. These slaves will then act as "cattle"-basically a limitless supply of blood

-Rebuild the Family; this would be purely self made but basically you could pick a settlement and begin recruiting and outfitting outsiders to follow the way of the vampire. This goes very well with Vance's Second Law.

Don't mind the mask, you don't wanna know what's hiding underneath...

    Conclusion

I didn't put nearly as much time on this build as I normally do, but hopefully the quality is still good enough for y'all to enjoy reading :) I'm excited for all the other cool creative builds other people have prepared for this event, and I appreciate anyone who took the time to look at mine! Cheers!

Speaking of PS4 screenshots (as a fellow PS4 player) they can be pretty tough to take just the way you want eh Madd xD

And while I'm on the subject. I've had an idea that if I use the Recording Gameplay feature then maybe I could just record said gameplay session, cut most of it down to where you know the screenshots are, then generate pictures through Sharefactory (which is a video editing software on the PS4 already)

    ^ Just speculation though :D

ooooo I'll have to give that idea a go sometime! I've literally been using a shit ton of jet when taking combat screenshots just so I can try and time it better XD kind of a pain in the butt
