    Dear Nate,

When I woke up today you were dead and the sun hurt my eyes. The world is gone and so is our baby. Not too long after I left the Vault I was attacked by some psychos, out for my caps (or whatever, they didn’t make any sense). It was so scary. After I killed them, I can’t even remember how I did that, I felt hungry so I took a bite… It was lovely.

    Nate, I think I’m a vampire.

It all makes sense, this morning I climbed out of what became your coffin, the sun burnt my eyes and when I finally found someone else all I could think about was drinking their blood and eating their flesh. I am a vampire!

I also found myself a new dress, it reminds me of Mr. Dreamy eyes, you remember? that guy from that book I liked.

    Anyway, Love you.

A little while ago I was going through the Stranger things event thread and I noticed someone mentioned the Family. A group of cannibals from FO3 that had decided that instead of simply eating people they would restrain themselves and take only their blood, essentially turning them into vampires (without all the fancy magical stuff). Later on, I had a discussion with my little sister on a book she was reading; Twilight. I’m not a fan but I know the essentials so I decided why not mix both? Voilà; one Mrs. Glitter Sparkles.

When Mrs. Sparkles woke up from the Vault she was a widow and childless in a world that had gone to smithereens. After spending 210 years underground, technically asleep, she quickly discovered that the Sun had decided to wage war on her eyes and that she had now gained an insatiable desire for human flesh. Incapable of handling this new reality she came up with a story ripped straight out of her favorite pre-war novels.

Let’s be honest did you really expect a housewife addicted to young adult vampire novels to be all that strong? All we want from this stat is the ability to increase our melee damage and perhaps, in time you can invest some more for that extra punch.

    Big Leagues

We’ll be using this only for the Night person perk so don’t hesitate to grab that perception bobblehead as soon as possible. The night person perk is going to be a great incentive to head out to hunt at night.

    Night Person

One of the main special stats of the build. It allows Mrs. Sparkles to become surprisingly tanky and with very little armor. Is it realistic? No, but we do want to get our hands on the Cannibal perk as soon as possible.

    Life Giver, Adamantium Skeleton, Cannibal

Charisma is simply 1. Glitter thinks that just like the vampires in her books, she’ll be able to convince anyone of anything as long as she stares intensely at them. Of course this barely ever offers the results she wants.

Intelligence is again simply 1. Mrs. Glitter Sparkles, as you may have expected is everything but smart.

Glitter has embraced her ideas of vampirism and while she’s sadly lacking in super speed, she has adapted quite well to her new life in the shadows. Those silly mortals can’t be allowed to learn your secret. After all, vampire hunters are a thing, right?

Sneak, Mr Sandman (1 rank), Ninja, Blitz

Mrs. Sparkles needs a bit of luck to survive the Wasteland, of course, she barely has any but on occasion, it will get her through the day.

    Bloody Mess

Of course, Mrs. Sparkles loves beautiful dresses but sadly those things aren’t always all that practical in combat and even if she does her best never to get into an actual fight she still could use something sturdier. A good looking outfit I came across was to wear one of the Nuka Cola Operator suits with shadowed leather gear. Granted it can be a bit difficult to get the Operator gear in the early game but you’ll probably find the shadowed gear lying around in the commonwealth. Oh, and don’t forget about all the extra pockets and whatnot.

In social situations, I recommend wearing the red dress. It has the perfect amount of glitter and will make it clear to everyone that Mrs. Glitter Sparkles is not to be messed with. Coincidentally, the extra charisma helps with all the awkward staring you’ll be doing too!

As far as weapons go, Glitter really doesn’t like guns. She can’t aim for shit and it’s so damn loud! Of course, she’s not strong enough to make unarmed a viable option but knives still are. They are the perfect tool for murdering and butchering. I went with Pickman’s blade. It’s amazingly powerful and can be found right here in the commonwealth. For the early game, you could pick up the combat knife near Concord which will do some nice damage too. And if you’re lucky you could even go for one of those disciple knives later on, even if they would probably need to have a pretty good legendary effect to top Pickman’s blade’s bleeding damage.

On occasion you will run into enemies that you can’t reach with your blade (usually turrets) for these cases it’s useful to either carry a handgun or some grenades which will make short work of the nuisances.

In essence, the gameplay of Mrs. Sparkles is simple: sneak, blitz, stab, repeat. The problem is that often you’ll not exactly be able of accomplishing this. Between knifespunges like the Super Mutants and just about any high-level enemy you’ll come across situations where that one stab may not be enough, or even six stabs. Or you’ll kill one guy without noticing his five friends that were staring at them like you stare at traders. Anyway, there will always be situations where sneaking may not end up working as well as you had hoped.

This is where the great combination of high endurance and high agility really come in. Endurance slows the rate at which sprinting will drain your AP and Agility will increase your max AP; in short, Glitter is a goddamn marathon runner. If you get into trouble; fall back. I tend to find the health gained by the Cannibal to be rather lackluster usually but when you find yourself having to back up through areas you’ve been through before you’ll usually find a lot of uneaten corpses; which is generally great. Of course, this won’t work as well with Super mutants and ghouls until you take the second rank of cannibalism so keep that in mind.

As mentioned before, thanks to Night Person there is actually a good reason to only go out at night. Between the extra intelligence that means you’ll be getting more experience from quests and kills and the night vision which gives you a great advantage over your enemies.

I decided not to incorporate a proper roleplaying section into the build mostly because I felt it would bloat it. I will, however, give a few quick pointers: first of all make sure to behave like someone who thinks Vampires are the hottest, sexiest, coolest things to (not) exist. In other words, channel your teenage girl, I guess. As for quests just consider how or why you would do some things. The go-to faction for people who sneak is usually the railroad but why would you want to save synths? You can eat those, or maybe you just prefer free-range food. You could also join the Brotherhood because you don’t like the taste of Ghouls and Supermutants (or the opposite) and you want to get rid of them once and for all. There’s freedom in the interpretation here and as long as you act a modicum amount of goofy you’re probably good to go as far as I’m concerned.

I enjoyed playing this build myself and have playtested it pretty extensively but due to my schedule during the event I still think I came a bit short, so if any of you have pointers on mechanics or anything along those lines that you think would absolutely fit into the character then sure, go ahead and leave them below. If you’re interested in more of my stuff I would like to recommend you my other FO4 build:

Also, please go treat yourself by going through the other Halloween builds if you haven't already. I'm aware this build isn't all that scary but you did click on the link sending you to a "Mrs. Glitter Sparkles" build so...

Gehehehe. How do you call a vampire with half a brain? Gifted... :D

Glitter Sparkles is so cray cray cray. Thank the god she doesn´t like guns as much as Robin Sparkles, who must be her canadian cousin no doubt. I love it, I just damn love it, mate.

Now I want to see Robin Daggers build...

hahaha yeah that's pretty cheeky tein. I fixed your title to standard. It will be intereting to see how The Night Hunter, Madd's vampire build compares and contrasts to this. my guess will be less teenpoppy :)

    great offering :D

Thanks, Motty, yeah that will be a completely different beast. I'll go fix the title on my King of Boston as well then, that's what I looked at for that little detail.

Madd, I think that would be my fault. I never announced this build until I was about to hit "post" and forgot to check if horror parody was allowed for the event. So, yeah don't feel like a tool but feel free to call me an asshole for ignoring protocol, cause that's on me.

No dude you're totally good, we can just have our vampire builds be brother and sister XD plus reading through them both, we differ plenty both in concept and gameplay. Btw, your art in this is awesome

Yeah, from what I understand your build is pretty different. Looks pretty brutal and badass from the pics you posted. Quite the opposite from Sparkles really even if she does a ton of damage (melee sneak is a tad op with Blitz).

If you want real OP use Ninja, Blitz, Rooted, Cloak and Dagger, Pack Alpha, and Chosen Disciple. You will one-shot everything even on Very Hard.
