Fallout Roleplaying Posting Rules

  • August 13, 2016

The hosts of the Fallout Hub reserve the right to remove any inappropriate comments or discussions. If the infraction is bad enough, it may be deleted without warning. Either of the hosts will send a PM to the member that posted the comment or discussion explaining why it was inappropriate.

The Fallout Hub accepts four main forms of roleplaying discussions:

    I. The first is a Roleplaying Profile. Roleplaying profiles are in-depth look into a specific character of your own creation. It tells their story, the things they carry, what they look like, and more. These profiles are great for showing off your character-crafting abilities and writing talent outside of a blog. They can also be great inspirations for other roleplayers. Examples of roleplaying profiles areKarzak, the King of the Commonwealth and Psyk.

    1. Roleplaying profiles must be longer 500 words and ideally less than 2000 words. If your profile does not meet the minimum word limit expectations, you will be given 24 hours to revise it. If it does not meet the minimum word limit 24 hours after moderation notice, the profile will be deleted. If more time is needed please send a message to either of the hosts.

1.1. Roleplaying profiles must include these elements: a backstory section, an appearance section, and an inventory section. Profiles that do not meet these expectations will be given 24 hours to add the missing sections. If the sections are not added within the 24 hour time window the profile will be deleted. If more time is needed please send a message to either of the moderators. See the Hub Roleplaying Profile Guide for help on these sections.

1.2. Roleplaying profiles should be tagged with the tag FRP:Profile

II. The second form of accepted discussion is a roleplaying faction profile. Faction profiles are similar to regular profiles, but outline a whole faction instead of just one character. They normally include sections such as History, Ranks, Beliefs, etc., though there are no direct rules for which sections should be involved. Faction profiles are great for adding depth to your self-created wasteland and can even be used in conjunction with character profiles to create an incredibly detailed world.

1.Faction profiles should be at least 1000 words. There is no suggested word limit, due to the fact that faction profiles are much more in depth than a character profile.

1.1. Forum-based live RP is not allowed. This means that you cannot roleplay as a character within a faction in the comment section of that faction’s page.

1.2. Faction profiles should be tagged with the tag FRP:Faction

III. The third form of accepted discussion is a roleplaying guide. Roleplaying guides are in-depth discussions that give tips or tricks to roleplay a certain type of character. Examples of roleplaying guides are Roleplaying a Synth in Fallout 4 and Fallout 4: Making a Murderer. These are especially helpful for newer roleplayers, though advanced guides are equally as helpful.

    1. Roleplaying guides must be longer than 250 words and ideally less than 1500 words. Any profile under the minimum word limit without explicit exception from the hosts, you will be given 24 hours to revise or update it. If it does not meet the expectations within this time, the discussion will be deleted. Again, exceptions may be made for more time in special cases.

1.1. Roleplaying guides should be tagged with the tag FRP:Guide

IV. The fourth type of accepted discussion is a roleplaying discussion. These are places where you can discuss problems or tips in roleplaying with fellow roleplayers. Examples are Your Wastelander's Idiosyncrasies and Roleplaying Discussion: Nora and Nate.

    1. The minimum word count for a roleplaying discussion is 75 words. However, there should be a prompt or bait question within the body text of your discussion. This serves to promote conversation about the topic. The body of the discussion should also include your own opinions about

1.1. Discussions are not the place to ask questions about game mechanics. If you have a question, please direct yourself to our many help threads. That doesn’t mean that questions are prohibited, however, as baits or catches are still required.

1.2. Roleplaying discussions should be tagged with the tag FRP:Discussion
