    Weapons

    Personality

As a devout follower of Arkay he has always seen great value in the lives of the living, as such he pursued a career as a healer to try and save as many people as possible. Following the Great War this conviction has only gotten stronger, to the point that he is unable to bring himself to end another person's life no matter how villianess they may be.

    Background

Was a member of the Imperial Legion during the Great War, as a healer in service of the Eigth Legion. While the Legion was destroyed by the invading Aldmeri invaders, he managed to escape the worst of the bloodshed by passing as a common citizen of the city. This however did not protect him the atrocities that the elves carried out on the citizens. Struggling to survive throughout the Elven ocupation of the capital he did his best to help anyone else that had managed to survive.

While travelling Skyrim he heard tales of a surviving arm of the Dark Brotherhood. Unable to bring himself to kill these criminals after all the death he had witnessed during the war, he instead devised a plan to infiltrate the group and save as many of their targets as he possibly could. Bluffing his way into the group, he now seeks out his targets and using a combination of his silver tongue, alchemy and what little knowledge of face sculpting he has, he makes people disappear so that they may live out their lives without fear of the Dark Brotherhood.

The more I've been thinking about it the less fond of the Dwemer idea I am. I think it'd make a great project one day but for a two-week profile I think it might be a bit much. I think with the Dwemer the three of us would need to research some lore, work out a lot of complex (or semi-complex) stuff that we might not agree on and put it all together in just too short a period of time. I'd love to work on that sort of thing one day, but it'd be something I'd want to dedicate into a full blown month long thing, maybe as a full blown Lore-RP crossover.

Anyway, I don't have any other big ideas but I've become more fond of the idea of creating a Dunmer here... I'm in a bit of a Tribunal hype-daze and can't think of anything better than making, well really anything based around either the Tribunal as a whole or Almalexia herself.

Don't know but I think we need something soon. Not sure how it long it typically takes to write a Profile but I think we're starting to push the deadline of the 28th here.

Nice to see the bones boiled to make the soup. Kinda wish I'd joined in now :D I am content to watch and absorb your magicka! But you've made me think of making a profile for my good wounded lady from Noormoc. So double blessings from this shrine!

I've had another idea, what about a member of the dark brotherhood who doesn't kill? It would only work in the time of Skyim since there's no listener and so no way for the Night Mother to tell everyone you haven't been doing your job. The character bluffed their way into the group and instead of killing their targets they warn them and help them in faking their death (similar to the one quest in Oblivion), in an attempt to save people from the assassins.

Shit, he's on to us guys, he knows all about the bones we're using to create our profile, we must silence him. :P

Ah, thanks Phil, glad to know we might be posting something slightly interesting so far.

Shit, that really makes me want to have a story to go along with that one. I'm 100% down for that Goldie. The idea of a character so good that he doesn't even destroy the Dark Brotherhood perhaps, some kind of Holy 'Assassin' so dedicated to allowing people to live that they won't even kill people that kill for money. Hmm, maybe we could even work that in with the other Arkay stuff in a way.

I'm also up for this, Gold, and the justification is the icing on the cake for me - context is way more important for a backstory than most people realise so this is perfect.

Maybe Dunmer for the race, because of the rivalry between the Morag Tong and the DB? It sounds kinda simple to me, but that's the extent of my lore knowledge so I can't really contribute much else. Or Orc perhaps, because assassinating sounds like it should be against the Code of Malacath, and not going through with it sounds dishonourable even for an assassin.

Hmm, I'd have to put my vote towards Orcs but the Dunmer work really well. I think it'd have to be based more off of which diety (if any) we think would work best.

    Orc - Malacath

    Anyone - Arkay

Dunmer - Almalexia (Or am I just too obsessed with her right now).

Well Almalexia is supposed to be a healer and teacher, as well as being generally merciful, so it fits pretty well to me. Could the act of saving a target from death be an extension of her teaching? Ie I'll be merciful so you can grow as a person or do XYZ.

I think it would be easier to go with a worshiper of Arkay. So a priest/ess of Arkay who values the lives of others so greatly that instead of destroying the dark brotherhood, they have bluffed their way into it to try and save as many people as possible. They'd probably be an alchemist or have some skill in it as it would allow them to brew potions to help with faking people's deaths. They'd also need to be very persuasive to be able to fool Astrid and convince the tragets that they are there to help them.

There would also be an interesting internal conflict for this character as someone who values life so much and yet lives and works amongst a group of people intent on ending lives.

Hmm, that's a good point on Arkay. Both Malacath and Almalexia are a bit more...complex even on the surface (I know Arkay gets more complicated the more you dig, but he starts off fairly simple in comparison) and I just don't know enough about either to feel as confidant...That being said, I don't think that the religion would have to be that large a part of the character, we've got enough going on with everything else that it feels a little like adding another layer to the cake rather than creating a more stable base.

So, are we agreed on The Dark Brotherhood fake-assassin then? Any opinions on the Race? Arkay is universal enough that it shouldn't matter all that much...I suppose Dunmer get that double-whammy of being more traditionally associated with the Morag Tong but being a DB member? I think Argonians are far too connected to Sithit for that to make sense but it could work too.
