Good morning all. So I think I have a build I want to use as my first when I get some time this week to start Morrowind. Was hoping for any thoughts or feedback on it from anyone. Race: Dunmer Specialization: Stealth Attributes: Agility and Endurance Sign: Lady Major Skills: Heavy Armor Long Blade Enchanting Security Sneak Minor Skills: Speechcraft Alchemy Mysticism Marksman Armorer Basically gives me good combat skills for the best items. Some great utility with sneak and security plus speech for stealing, making money, etc. And good support skills with alchemy, enchanting, armorer, mysticism. Also looked like the starting level numbers looked pretty good.....at least I think all that is true lol. Thanks all!

That actually looks pretty damn good the way it is, Amornar!

Agility's pretty much a must have, as it helps with hitting enemies and avoiding their attacks. And Endurance is always useful, as it affects your starting Health, and how much you gain upon Leveling Up.

I tend to prefer Medium, personally, but Heavy Armour will definitely be helpful, especially early on. Long Blade's are pretty much the most common weaponry you'll come accross, so they're also a plus. Marksman will always be a favorite of mine, mainly for the Throwing Weapons. I mean, you could always use a bow or crossbow, but still...

Speechcraft may prove to be quite useful, since in Morrowind the Traders sometimes outright refuse to sell if they don't like you (You are a filthy N'wah, after all :p). Security's always helpful, and having it as a Major Skill (As you have it) will do wonders. I've never really used Sneak that much, but I could see it coming in handy around difficult enemies (Of which there are A LOT in Morrowind).

A note on Alchemy: You can't apply poison to your weapon like in the other ES games (In fact, I'm not really sure why poison's a feature in this game), so if you take Alchemy, you should primarily be making Potions that would benefit your character. Restore Health and Fatigue potions, especially.

There is only one thing I could think to change, though:

Armourer tends to Level pretty slowly, but by taking it you'll end up saving quite a bit of gold in the long run. Now, what I normally do is take it as a Major Skill, thus it starts at a higher Level from the very begining, which means that you're more likely to succeed at repairing your gear, with less broken Hammers.

Otherwise, I think that looks pretty solid!

Hope you enjoy Morrowind, and of course, feel free to let us know of any other questions you may have!

Thanks for the reply back Caesar. Very helpful to know I'm on the right track. Maybe I'll switch sneak and armorer for major and minor. I felt sneak would get good to start higher but it might be easier to level it than I think. Other games is easy to power level it if needed, can't remember for Morrowind but we shall see. Excited!

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but: I'm playing with the idea of adding myself to the faction Ashlanders via console for roleplay purposes (don't wish to be called "outlander" when I'm in the camps).

Would this break the game in any way..? Are there any consequences I should be aware of?

Because I know that you become a member of the faction during the Main Quest, but for my Ashlander playthrough, I'm avoiding doing the main quest... but may return to it much later on.

Hmm, I'm not really sure on that one. I don't think it'll cause any problems, but I've never tried it, so can't say for sure. Personally, I'd recommend looking for a mod that adds you to their faction. I can't think of any at the moment, but mods would normally mention if they break the Main Quest (Few will, in any case), so something like that might be the best option.

Uhhh how would I find builds for oblivion?

The Archives would be what you're looking for, Skull_Corn.

You can find all Oblivion (And Morrowind) Builds under the "Build" discussion type, or if you prefer, you could go to the "Oblivion" tag under the By Game heading. There you'll find all Builds and other discussions relating to Oblivion.

This isn't related to the group or recommendations as much as it is just general troubleshooting, so Classics Hosts, apologies if this should go elsewhere. I just thought the Help Desk might be a good place to start and didn't want to bump any content down. Has anyone running Windows 10 ever had an issue installing Area or Daggerfall and gotten an error "0" in DOSBox? Is there a fix for this?

Hmm, I've only ever played Daggerfall on Windows 7, and I'm afraid I've never heard of an error 0 before. Could it possibly be a problem with Dosbox itself, maybe not installing correctly?

Hopefully Bonelord will be able to help you out more, I'm really not that skilled with tech-stuff, unfortunately :/ .

Hope you manage to get it fixed!
