Announcement: Thank you!

  • October 8, 2015

Hey, guys. I know this isn´t really a usual thing to do, but I would like say thank you to various people, for various reasons.

If you haven´t noticed, this month was quite successful for TES Classics, and that makes me really happy. We had some interesting discussions over here like: Your Nemesis?, Hlaalu, Redoran or Telvanni?, Morag Tong vs Dark BrotherhoodAyleid or Dwemer Ruins? and The Most Memorable Quest.

I would like to thank Phil, Golden Fool, TimMirric, Mathias, Ylva, Paul-liusDragonborn and Veloth for participating in these discussions and breathing some activity into Classics (If I forgot to mention someone who participated there, then I´m sorry. I have limited memory space ). It was really awesome to talk with you guys, we have dispensed a lot of nostalgia, right? We nearly got Phil playing Oblivion again and making a build. Nearly, but we´ll manage that one day, Goldie.

I decided I won´t even mention how many times we moved from Classics to Lore group thanks to these discussions...So I´m not mentioning it, ok?

Also, we ran an Character Building Event:Factions this month and more than a few people decided to participate. And I am really happy with how succesful it was. Six builds were posted during one week! SIX! That´s nearly the same number of builds that already were in Classics. Not everyone posted their builds because of lack of time or a broken PC, but shit happens. It was successful anyway.

So for this, I would like to say thank you to Golden Fool, Paul-lius, Chris Diokno, Ponty and Kael. Thank you very much, guys, for expanding our builds archive. If you haven´t seen those builds yet, be sure to check them out!

And I have few personal acknowledgements to specific people.

The first is to Dragonborn for his suggestions on how to improve and promote TES Classics. That was very helpful advice, DB, and I thank you for that.

Another belongs to my  High Court Artist Golden Fool. You´re a great barrel guy , and your drawings are awesome. It is always fun to talk with you about barrels or koalas in a burning forest.  I thank you for your every picture you make and will continue to make for Classics. And it seems your build is very popular, so I hope TES Classics will see more from you.

Last one is to Kael. You´re the best, pal. I doubt that, without your support and immense ego, any of this would be happening. And your grammar corrections, of course. Those are the most important. Without you I would never have started writing and more importantly post. Thanks, mate.

And of course, thanks to everyone who is posting and commenting in Classics. Everything counts, and I would certainly like to see more. Maybe some Builds, RP:Profiles or just some simple guides with tips for new players. But that´s a future.

So let´s hope the future of TES Classics will be better and better. I hope to see you around once Skywind is out.

    Thank You!

    Huzzah!

I would prefer the title of unofficial mascot .I'll get a build done here someday, or within a month of getting a new computer (You're allowed to hold me to that)

I don't think I've really done much for the group other than send all the complaints to you but it is great to see the recent success of the group. I think most of that has to do with you (Karver) and Prisoner for being so dedicated to the group, so a big cheer for you guys.

The Classics are rapidly becoming a fun place to be. The energy you guys have created here is great and the discussions are always entertaining. I think you've shown that the older games are still relevant and hopefully inspired a few newer TES fans to explore the history of the series. Plus let's face facts and acknowledge that Skyrim itself is rapidly becoming a classic in it's own right.

With ESO gaining momentum on consoles and the spark of inspiration starting to creep into several members of this community, maybe the time is coming in which TES V will have to be discussed here  Once Fout 4 lands and people have had time to play it, complete it and build it, by the new year it could be that Skyrim posts are a minority thing.

What I am saying is this: Stick around, don't  go anywhere. Time will fly but there will always be room for the classics. As for Oblivion, the seed has been planted...

Nevertheless, I thank you for those complaints. See, feedback in this group is so rare that I even value complaints

And I will be looking forward to your build.
