Ok, ok. I give up. So me and Phil spent pretty much whole evening looking for one source we know that exists. We both remember a certain line but that´s it. We both remember that Dunmer were burying some shit in the corners of their houses. Phil remembers that Veloth is involved, I remember that it is something tied to one of the Daedra teaching Dunmer how to build Great Houses by burying stuff in the corners, dividing them from the nomadic clans.

BUT WE CAN´T FIND IT!

So we are calling for help, because more heads know more than one. Or two... Anyway, we know about Vivec´s Lessons where he mentions that bone, finger, string and tongue is buried in each corner of the house, but we are looking for the direct reference, sentence saying Dunmer are burying it.

SO WHERE IS IT?!

Are you sure this isn't the only mention of it? Serman 19 of the 36 lessons of Vivec:

Cornerstone one has a finger

Buried under, pointing through

Dirt, slow low in the ground

North cannot be guessed,

Not 100% sure, no. But my memory is telling me there is a passage something like "bury these items in each corner of your house and..." OR "and Veloth buried these items in each corner." It was something less specific than in the Sermons.

I wish I could help you guys, but the meta side of TES isn't exactly my forte.

Maybe the stuff the Dunmer buried was a metaphor. Perhaps 'tongue' isn't exactly a literal tongue. Maybe it has something to do with speech? Some long lost language or song?

Well if you still don't have any luck, maybe you could wait until ESO: Morrowind drops. And hopefully we'll get to uncover more answers to the mysterious Dunmer.

He taught them how to build Houses, and what items they needed to bury in the Corners.
