Legendary Figures: Queen Barenziah

Hmm, which reminds me. I always wondered why the city of Cheydinhal in Cyrodiil has a Dunmeri Count. I found a mention that apparently, Barenziah used some leverage to get Indarys on the throne there.

Ah Barenziah, a true femme fatale. Biography of Barenziah and The Real Barenziah paints her both as a cultural figure and a victim respectively. I think personally Barenziah's motives are very difficult to understand, be it either for survival, power or just lust.

Seriously, is there anyone else in TES lore who had slept with more men than Queen B?

Also does this mean Karliah could potentially be Queen of Morrowind by bloodline?

There definitely could be someone who slept with more. It´s just that Barenziah got it recorded for herself. But as far as sleeping with rockstars...Barenziah rocks :D

Hmm, it´s difficult to say. You have to understand that Barenziah was Queen of Mournhold, which is like one city state of Morrowind. Ebonheart had its own king too. Hlaalu Helseth became king of Mornhould, maybe sometimes called King of Morrowind because in that time, House Hlaalu had very big political power in Morrowind, thanks to their alliance with Empire.

But yeah, technicaly, Karliah has a claim for the throne of Mournhold.

Ok, now that's food for thought. Mournhold is now Redoran turf I think. Should Karliah somehow manage to claim it as her own could it become the foothold Hlaalu need to get back into the game?

Hmm. Not sure. If Great House Sadrys knew about her...plenty of assassins going after her arse. Plus is the claim to Mournhold a Hlaalu thing or Barenziah bloodline? Note that neither of the books ever mention Great House, Tribunal and other Morrowind things. Isn't that weird?

It's a Barenziah bloodline thing - I think. She was born into a Hlaalu clan and had Imperial sympathy, right? I am just assuming that said sympathy and Hlaalu connection is alive and well for her. If she discovered her lost daughter Katriah had found a way to claim the Mournhold throne, would she want to capitalise on that? Just thinking out load is all.

It´s tough. It has been 200 years and what is most disturbing is that we have absolutely no knowledge what happened to Helseth and Barenziah. Were they exiled again? They are dead?

As for Barenziah capitalising on Karliah....well, Karliah is a grand-daughter, Helseth is a son. If Helseth would be alive, Karliah would be an imposter. And if she would want to capitalise on her, she would have to spin another big ball of lies most likely.

Yeah and for me that lack of info is like a blank canvas. Maybe Helseth's fate coincided with that of his House and finds himself old an plotting a return to power via proxy? Searches and finds Karliah and hell, I dunno :P Like I say, food for thought for me.
