Did Rajhin Use Shadow Magic To Reach Godhood?
In Elder Scrolls when people often reference a god who stole his power there are usually talking about Vivec or to a lesser extent Talos (which is strange since they both steal\stole just as much). But there is another god famed for his pilfering ability and that's Rajhin the Footpad, Theif God of Elsweyr.
What we know of Rajhin is that he was a mortal Khajiit thief who eventually became a god and that he somehow used a magic ring to do it. But how exactly?
In The Thief God's Treasures it says this:"Rajhin's most well-known plunder was the celebrated Ring of Khajiit, named after our people. It was once the Anticipation's Finger, and only found its way to Tamriel because it was stolen from the eighth arm of the Webspinner herself. With the Ring of Khajiit, Rajhin grasped the spark of godhood. It wrapped him in shadow so dark that none could reach him. Not the Anticipation of Vivec; not even the passage of time."
This makes me think of the shadow magic used by Azra Nightwielder in Shadowkey. Especially these quotes:
"shadows were not a mere absence of light but a reflection of possible worlds created by forces in conflict. A light strikes a rock, and the shadow is a record of their clash, past, present and future."
And
"Azra attempted what had never been done before, manipulating his own shadow to such an extent that he instantiated and melded all possible Azras at the same time, crossing over from this singular existence to all the existences in shadow"
Is it possible that when Raj wrapped himself in shadow so dark even Mephala and time couldn't reach him he did what Azra had attempted and melded all his shadows and became a god?
In the books Rajhin and the Stone Maiden, Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 as well as The Seven Shadows of Rajhin tells of Raj stealing other shadows, this is something Shadow Mages do to gain clarity of mind. Also a loading screen in ESO explains that Rajhin's Seven Shadows are shadow versions of him that each represent a certain aspect. The one you meet in ESO is a bit of a dick.
Also lets look at his artifacts as well. The Ring of Khajiit is associated with Mephala as well as Meridia, so it's connected to shadows, manipulation and light. Could the Ring of Khajiit have bent light around Rajhin so that he could travel the possible worlds?
Rajhin's Mantle is a relic of his you find in ESO. It's light armor piece that if you wear it, it brings your shadow to life. And I don't mean like a shadowy copy but a real live version of your self. Is it possible that the Mantle can pull through alternate possible versions of people?
So did Rajhin, The One Who Walks, also walk alternate realms of possibility and gained insight and godhood?
Shadow magic be over powered
