That's a good question and it changed how I look at my new WIP character. Redguards would need time to concretize their independence, to recover from the battles. So they would want a stall-mate situation for other players at the table so they can have that time.

    Hey guys!

Been awhile since I have been here. Anyway, is there anything else that we know about Jaciel Morgen? Besides from her from being in the 'crisis' of Battlespire etc etc? What link does/would she have to Nocturnal? Also is there anything else we know about Greater/Lesser Nocturnals?

I don't think there's a whole lot of information on them apart from the Battlespire events. As far as I know the Nocturnals are only mentioned in: "Members of the Hew's Bane Thieves Guild Answer Your Questions" and even then there's not much more on them than the fact that they're not all too pleasant, which probably relates to their tendancy to dwell in melancholy as mentioned in Battlespire. Maybe you'll have more luck if you ask Phil, daedra are his gig, but so far the litterature seems lacking.

I just read an interesting discussion over at reddit and wanted to know what you guys thought of this theory. https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/344nvj/chillrend_an_ancient_falmer_blade/

Basically, Goliathprime believes that Chillrend, a sword which has little to no lore behind it, is a powerful snow elf blade. He makes some really good points too so I suggest you check it out and tell me what you think.

Thank you for sharing that Ebonslayer. While I don't believe Chillrend could be the spear head of the snow prince's spear, I wouldn't be surprised if it was indeed a falmer weapon as he makes some very valid observations. From a weapon design point however it doesn't resemble the falmer weaponry we know of, although this may just be a lack of reference material (after all, all we've got to go on are a bow and a shield which were both clearly made with a specific design in mind).

What do you think of it?

I can see it as highly probable, except the spear tip part, I don't believe that. It's placement in that quest has always seemed odd to me even before reading the discussion. I always thought it had to do something with either the Falmer or Grey Fox. The Grey Fox theory would imply the HOK canonically joined the thieves guild and got Chillrend and it's not like Bethesda to declare optional quests canon so I will dismiss that. The falmer theory, however, holds a lot of good points and I believe it for the most part.

Who knows. Maybe ES VI will make a quest regarding this weapon's origins. Wishful thinking, I know, but it's good to hope.

So, what do we know about the giants?  I've seen a lot of the stuff available on UESP, but I'm wondering if anyone has any crazy theories or interesting ideas.

I'm tossing around a lore-ish build that I am calling tentatively "Something something Giants".  (It's an excuse for me to play another light-armor-wearing, 2-handed-weapon-wielding barbarian type, really.)  The giants in-game often frustrated me because there was so little you could do with them, and the game seems to barely mention them.  There are too few hostile giants to make giant-hunting an entertaining career choice, so you end up killing them to work up your skills or to make you feel like a big man or just because YOU CAN'T GROUND ME STEVE YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD

I'm saying that my usual barbarian brutes would want to *fight* giants, but the game doesn't give you much reason to.  So I hit upon the idea of a barbarian brute who has some sort of *affinity* for giants instead - maybe a trace of Atmoran ancestry?  Maybe a distant giant in the gene pool?

I mean, they're the ultimate barbarians, right?  Nomadic, living in the open wilderness, hunting & herding.  Big f***-off weapons, light armor.  Surprisingly fast *and* hit like a truck.  Gnarly scars/tattoos and tribal paint patterns.  Beards!

There seems to be some rudimentary symbolism among giants, but perhaps not any developed religion.  So some Atmoran type who takes after them might similarly scorn the gods.  But that carving into flesh and tusk, the careful markings (but not incisions) on stone - speaks to me of a primitive enchanting.  So our barb might well go that route, too, smithing huge weapons and then inscribing them with the runes of power.

Honestly not sure if this is the right place for this sort of musing.  I haven't got anything developed enough for even the workshop, I think, so here we are - noodling on lore (monkey and otherwise) about giants.
