In Fallout 4 you have four factions vying against each other: The Railroad, The Institute, The BOS, and the minutemen... But which one means the best and is the best for the wasteland... Not which one you like the most, which is the best and will be the most help not just to the people but to the land and potentially the resources.

Hmm, that IS an interesting question Bryn. Hmm, personally, either the Minutemen, as they can form an actually functioning version of the NCR, where the settlements help eachother out. The other is the Institute, if the SS is benevolent when they become director. True, Synth Freedom will more or less be gone, which is one thing I despise about the Instituted, but their tech may help ,make the Commonwealth a bastion of technology and security. Imagine Courser police

Well, technically the best (according to me) is to become Minuteman general, do their questline up to reclaiming and rebuilding the fort, then go to the Institute, following the main questline and finish the game with them.

There is no actual conflict between the Institute and the Minuteman and thus such ending leaves you effectively as the leader of both factions. The Minuteman will continue to help people on the topside, supported by some Institute tech that you will leak them and under your leadership the Institute can slowly become less secretive and more helpful while still retaining the concept of scientific advancement.

You see the Minutemen have a lot of problems...

    1. Citizen protectors: While this is all well and noble, most civilians have little to no proper combat training, only enough to survive. Which when by yourself, is great... When protecting entire settlements its not so great.

    2. How easily destroyed they were: The minutemen were all but destroyed at Quincy... Besides Preston those who were surviving minutemen either sold them out and quit or gave up years prior... One battle and their group was gone. And yes, lots of other things happened to them, but if you can go from a sizable group to one member left from only one battle, you aren't that great a group.

    3. Morals: As stated before, the minutemen sold each other out and that led to their demise... What's stopping that from happening again?

There's more but you get my point.
