What Scares You The Most About Fallout?

With both Halloween and the release of Fallout 4 rapidly approaching it got me wondering what parts of the Fallout universe do you find just downright creepy? Is it the big hulking Super Mutants? Is it Ghouls or the possibility of Ghoulification? Is it all those sinister looking robots lurking around? Or is it the darker side of human nature like slavers or cannibals?

Personally I find Little Lamplight creepy as hell... children are scary goddamit!

Buildings infested with Ghouls give me the creeps. Repconn, especially, as some of those ghouls always manage to get the drop on me. Ghouls are actually the reason it took me so long to play Fallout for the first time. When my friend told me about it, he ended up making it sound like a zombie game, and I just don't like zombie games. Eventually I gave it a shot, though, and the rest is history.

Do actually dislike zombies or do they just give you the creeps?

I just dislike them. I think it's mostly the usual zombie lore that doesn't excite, and I don't think they generally make very exciting bad guys. Granted, ghouls are functionally the same thing in terms of gameplay; like fast moving zombies in most other series, and that I have no problem with.

I miss the ye olde type magic zombies that always wanted to eat brains and could actually talk and stuff.

Did they say things besides "Braaaaaains!"?  That sounds kinda like the ghouls from Supernatural. At least I think that's what they did...

Dunwich building, that place gives me the creeps. Repconn also is that way.

The Legion's Views of Society-Twisted, warped ideas of Ancient Rome

Dunwich Building-Not only is it named after a Lovecraft book, its probably thw only supernatural place in the Wasteland

    Deathclaw Sanctuary-Enough said

Yeah somebody at Bethesda really likes Lovecraft with with all the references in their games.

Fingers crossed for a mutated Cthulu octopus in FO4.

A Deathclaw coming towards me at full sprint scares the shit out of me, no matter how well equipped I am. Also, the first time I saw a Deathclaw, which was in New Vegas. I didn't even know they existed....lol.

I wish they had a more distinctive sound.

What kind of sound do you imagine?

Too be honest with you...raiders. Probably a mix of personal experiences with people similar and just how they can do whatever they want. Murder, vandalism, torture, rape, with NO punishment at all. It has a way of frightening me.

I can't really picture one :( But I have in mind sounds like Godzilla's roar, or Velociraptor calls from Jurassic Park, or TIE fighter screeches; a sound that you hear in the distance and you think "Oh, crap...I'm in Deathclaw territory," and proceed to Nope it right out of there.

Mole rats... I don't know why, but the little shuffling sounds, and the jump attacks as soon as I turn around... I flip out every time.

But in terms of general horror? Feral Ghouls, with how scary they are and their origins.

Just use the dart gun in Fallout 3. Cripples legs. So one shot and the deathclaw goes from sprinting to hobbling

I like the idea that deathclaws sound like the 2014 Godzilla. Something very guttural and threatening.
