  Every now and then my friends are like "You still play Skyrim right?" I'll then respond with "Yeah..." and then their like "Oh ok" and that is how that conversation usually goes.

  I think my parents would prefer me being out doing something productive, but have come to accept it as being better than me being out on the street

  Lol I just laugh and say its the best investment of 60 bucks I've ever made in terms of entertainment value. Most people I talk to about it are aware that I use/contribute to this site, and they're gamers as well so they know "what it be."

  Indeed. I have an agreement with my wife...I don't complain about her Real Housewives of wherever and she doesn't complain about my gaming.
  Entertainment is in the eye of the beholder.
  I tried explaining character building...about two sentences in she said "nevermind, have fun honey."
