So I've never been shot by an arrow (luckily), so I was having trouble thinking of how my MC would describe the experience. I found this article about the account of a doctor practicing during the American Civil War. It's not for the squeamish, I was definitely cringing at some of the symptoms and practices. The doctor observed 71 arrow wounds, 36 to the body, of which 22 died, and 35 to to the extremities.
