Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out the best gameplay recording software for my system but have encountered problems on the way. I've only recorded one video to date - this one:
It was recorded using Mirillis Action! and edited with Windows Live Movie Maker. However, I have no access to Action today and I'm forced to look for other options. Nvidia Shadowplay is out of question - my system can't handle it. Speaking of system, here are the specifications:
CPU
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2.83GHz
Yorkfield 45nm Technology
RAM
6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 534MHz
Motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5E Deluxe (LGA775)
Graphics
HP LP2275w (1680x1050@59Hz)
3071MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (EVGA)
Storage
232GB Seagate ST3250820A ATA Device (ATA)
931GB Seagate ST31000528AS ATA Device (SATA)
465GB Seagate ST3500320AS ATA Device (SATA)
I have around 160 GB free space on the partition I plan to record to.
I've tried Fraps - made my game lag and had almost no options to reduce the lag
Dxtory - game stutters when playing (although the FPS counter shows 55-60 FPS) and its even worse in the resulting video with around 10 FPS.
Action - recorded the video above, 1080p footage, no in-game lag. Sadly I don't have access to it today. Edit: program took ages to open back then, any reason for that?
What gameplay recording software do you use? Do you have any advice on what program should I use? Recommended settings? Perhaps help with making Dxtory to record better?
