Elvyasor, Scribe of the Heritance

  • Below I write a brief history of the Veiled Heritence, most accurately described  as a Cult, aimed to destroy the Aldmeri Dominion, now we are but echoes of memory, rarely mentioned or even thought about by the average Altmer. So why do I tell you this now, I tell you because now is the time where we rise, now is the time for the Veil to Blind the Dominion, and to crush it, I am Elvyasor, scribe of the New Veiled Heritence. With these words I depart to the land where the Thalmor, and thus the Aldmeri Dominion are exerting their force,  I head off now to Skyrim, leaving behind my work in case another is needed to take my place.

    A Brief History:

The Veiled Heritence was once a group talked about quite often in the lands of Alinor, well it was more accurately known as the Summerset Isles at the time. We are the most infamous groups of the Altmeri people and yet at the same time, one that was stricken from most History Books and are rarely mentioned these days.

The Veiled Heritence is long since disbanded for the origins of it's formation haven't been in direct question, nor even of any consequence for hundreds of years. It was the reign of Queen Ayrenn  and by with her reign, the original creation of the Aldmeri Dominion that sparked the flames of Rebellion. Many young men joined the rebellion as they will with any such rebellion. However it was not only the young, gullible Altmer who joined the Heritence, many among the group of nationalists were veterans of previous wars, Mer who had fought against the Khajiit and the Tree-Dwelling Elves. They were disillusioned with the young Queen and her allies. The young and old banding together against their Queen, this is not something that was often done in the Summerset Isles of old, the young would rise up against anyone who was appointed if given even an inkling of a reason.

Now the thing that made the Veiled Heritence such a large threat was obviously not the majority of their members, raging youths and old veterans adamantly sticking with their hatred. No what made the Heritence truly a threat to the Aldmeri Dominion of that age was the support that was garnered with the locals. It was so called 'traditional Altmer' that stood against the Queen, perhaps not openly or even as discreetly as the Heritence but they did lend support to the Heritence where they could. This led to the illusive rebels to gain an even greater advantage over the Dominion and Queen Ayrenn.

The Allies of the Veiled Heritence:

A little known fact is that the Heritence was supported quite extravagantly by others who wished to see the Aldmeri Dominion, of course they had many enemies, what large group of Elves didn't with humans like the Nords around.

The Heritence's most important ally was a rather odd one if I do say so myself, I would have expected the Ebonheart Pact, or perhaps the Daggerfall Covenant (the former was an ally but they were more or less routed as soon as they tried to help) to be staunch supporters of the Altmer Rebels, I mean anything done to weaken the enemy would be most useful.

But  it was the Maormer who were in fact the most important, and after reading through I can easily see the reason for this. The Sea Elves would raid the coasts of Auridon to weaken the Aldmeri Dominion and allow the Heritence to take over the Island. However the Maormer could not have been fully trusted by the Rebels, the Sea Elves were known to have constantly tried sacking the Summerset Isles, they wanted the destruction of the Isles and they cared little of who they killed to destroy it.

We did actually have another ally but they are something I rarely enjoy mentioning. The Toothmaul Tribe were a small tribe of Goblins located on the island of Auridon and, the way we created the alliance with them was unfair, and in my opinion a horrible decision. The old Heritence didn't try and form an alliance with the Goblins, instead they tricked them into signing a contract. Of course everyone did follow through with their sides of the bargain so it wasn't that horrible, but still our ancestors shouldn't have tricked the Goblins and I hate that it ever happened.

The amount of information on the olden days, the origins of the Heritance I should say, is very limited and what we have is now written down. As a Scribe of the Heritance it is my duty to write down everything I know for the next Scribe, whoever they may be. May my words pass through the Heritance for many generations.

My character for my build and an expansion of the Backstory, it was getting rather long and I felt that separating it was the best option. I hope you guys enjoyed reading it and I might do similar things in the future (possible develop her into a deeper character as well.) The build can be found Here.
